Got a few more progress pictures from the body shop..

Rotten sill where someone has jacked it up wrong, its split and rot has taken over on the inside, to be replaced by genuine part.

First time its been outside in a while, Main parts sand then soda blasted, main bubbles, lacquer peel and rust sanded down and etch primed.

Trying something a little different for the sills, MK5 gti side skirts, cut to length and fettled with until they fit and plastic welded back together, still to be sanded and prepared.

The sills and the boot seams to be where most of the rot is, Removing the VRS badge and just leaving the Skoda badge, clean and simple.

The bumper was knackered, chunks out of it scratches and a paint run from the dodgy insurance job fix..

Time to prepare it for smoothing..

More updates to come soon, it should be in primer this week and painted, flatted and polished next week! Fingers crossed

Y dint u just use polo gti skirts pal? They are the same length as the fabia sills so dont need shortening .. thats the ones i used on mine

tris holmes - The same guy thats doing all the paintwork plastic welds swell which is a bonus haha

Matt - Tbh mate i never gave it any thought haha, Better them been too long than too short I suppose lol

Started work on the bumper smoothing, Building the first piece above the swage line, I used the piece of bumper that was there before but modified it.

Using a plastic stapler i joined the two pieces together ready for plastic welding and filling tomorrow

Tomorrow i will build the bottom section and weld them into the bumper itself, more pictures tomorrow on that hopefully!

As mentioned i needed another sill as the other was rotten, here is the replacement panel that will replace it (Not using all of it)

As the bonnet was in such a state, stone chips, rust, the paint itself has sank, due to too much being applied last time it was painted

Same with the top of the windscreen

More work from today

The bumper and the PU sealer had cured overnight, grinded the rivet heads off and plastic welded around all of the joins, i forgot to take a picture in between to catch the plastic welding lol

The the first coat of flexible plastic filler

The bumper should be going into primer on saturday, and here are the sills, which have been grinded rite back to remove any trace of rust, then applied galv spray, then rubberised stone chip

New O-Rings for my leaky struts, the old ones are perished

The car is going into primer tomorow so more updates then!

Looks good mate, I think my bumper is twice the weight from all my filler lol. I should put pics in my thread of the job really.

Thanks ash! I should hopefully have some more tomorrow, getting the tyres taken off the rays aswell to put a bit more sealant on before the new tyres go on!

More progress from the last few days!

Getting all my spacers, show kit and wheels sorted out!

The side kitts weren't as strong as i would of liked after cutting them down so I fiber glassed the inside of them

A coat of filler and stopper later

The bumpers final coat of plastic filler to build the curve up

Got the car outside to blow off all the dust from sanding and prep

And she's in the booth ready for primer!!

The was the state if the bumper after me reversing into someone like a ****.

Started to prep the plastics for painting (gloss black)

Mirror bases, I even sanded out the manufacture line because ime sad

Also cleaned all of the limescale and rubbish off them

The car has been taped and masked up, ready for etch primer and then primer!

The bumpers drying after having another skim with stopper to stop any pin holes

Putting the swage line back in so it looks factory

Sorting our a few bits he wasn't 100% happy with before the second coat of primer

Thats it for now until monday when it could be going to paint or tuesday!! Exciting stuff

Epic work Need someone to give some TLC like that.
