16" alloys fitted to vrs

Featured Replies

Has anyone fitted 16" alloys to a vrs???

Any feedback would be helpful.

Standard on the estate

My 03 vrs came with 16 inch vrs alloys? Not sure why though as I thought they all came with 17s

My VRS is a Y reg and came with 16"s as standard. Apparently the very early cars had 16"s as standard not 17"s. I have 4 16" spiders for sale as well if your looking for some

ive got some 16"s speedline cores on my celica thinking of putting them on. thanks anyway

I had a 51 plate (Vrs) on 16" spiders, I believe all Mk1 (Vrs) estates had 16's as standard

+1

Yeah, the estate doesnt have the cross bracing behind the rear seats like the hatch,

so Skoda put 16s on it with taller tyres to reduce the flex through the chassis :)

thanks guys gonna see what they look like on in the next few days.

makes a lot of sense from a cost point of view - many brands available cheaply in that size

I have had 16in they come standard on estate vrs models was driving perfect just decided to upgrade to a set of 17in spiders lol

Here is mine with stock 16in. I also have coilovers and i don't recommend 16in with coilovers because the car is very bouncy because of the big tyre sidewall...

What is the standard tyre size on the 16's?

205/55/16W

Don't forget at least a W rated for a vRS.

I didn't realise that, I thought V's were good for 149? Is there a specific load rating required for the 16's (Looking to buy a set to replace the crashy 18's on my new hatchback)

V's are good for 149. But a car that is capable of 147 on paper requires a tyre that goes beyond this, there's just no margin. W rated is what is legally required.

Not sure about load ratings.

I've just gone from a set of 17" spiders on my estate (non VRS) to a set of 16" wheels.

You do get a bit more roll now, but it's nice a comfortable.

Granted, the 17s look better on a VRS, but with non VRS suspension, my estate looks too high.

I had the standard Spiders 16' for 88,000 kilometers.

Good handling-top comfort-not good looking

Does anybody know the offset of these 16” wheels? Thanks
