Citigo Bulb Types?

Featured Replies

Anyone know where to get a list of replacement bulb types please?

The manual doesnt seem to list the types, only instructions on how to change them.

Thanks.

It should be in the manual.

They are called H4, I believe. (front headlights)

Cant see them in the manual, I believe H4's are the headlight bulbs. So that's one down :)

Not absolutely certain, but the DRL bulbs look the same as those in the Yeti, which are P13W

Thanks for the bulb info. Is it possible to replace the W21/5W daytime running lights with brighter LED`s?

You should update your PDF viewer. The file is about 4MB. In Google Chrome it opens as a 'normal' web page but it has a 'save' button top left. Microsoft Explorer will probably ask you what you want to do with the file - save or open.

Nope, up to date and still doesnt download, anyway , does it actually show bulb TYPES or just fitting instructions?

My manual shows "diy" section but only installation guidance.

The Citigo has the same DRLs as the Yeti.

See this thread, post 3 covers it

Dont think it does CFB, I had one out and it's like a 501 W5W but bigger and it doesnt have the plastic connectors attached to it, its capless.

The manual in the link says 3/12 yet the 1 that I got with my car says 5/12 so the 1 I have is an updated version yet doesn't have all the bulb types isn't that a bit weird?

Thanks pixel viking, spot on!!

Those ebay bulbs dont look right, I have had one out and it has a double filament, one for DRL and one for sidelight like you said. Bit of a strange bulb??

They are listed W21/5W (7443) and the base looks the same as the image of the standard filament bulb.

It could be a generic picture and not of the actual bulb?

So who's going to be the guinea pig?

You'll need one with plenty of LEDs in for the current draw to be correct for the canbus system

I had to make resistor loop on my 07 corsa for the number plate lights or the flickered and went off

I then found some 48 tower LEDs that did the trick gave the same effect as Lexus and BMW number plate led

There is much discussion on the up forum

Just fitted a pair of Philips Xtreme Vision headlight bulbs to my own little Tonka Toy - haven't tried them in reality yet, but they "seem" to be |OK. One important fact that I did note, was that it's CRUCIAL to fit them into the bulbs holders properly (ie. dead level) as it's quite easy to misalign them - I had one bulb dead-level & just as it says on the tin, whereas the other I'd fitted on a downwards slope - extremely easy to do. One headlight was where it was supposed to be, but the other was attracting complaints about it blinding them, from pilots flying at 50,000 feet. Whipped it out & fitted it again (more carefully this time) and now both are level.

DAMN this modern technology!

Just picked up our brand new Citigo - all new set up, with a string of LED lights at the bottom of the headlamp unit forming the sidelights and daylight running lights.

The sad news is that I thought I'd upgrade the standard headlamp bulbs to some better Philips Extreme or Osram Nightbreaker BUT - the low beam and the high beam are now separate units so I do not believe use H4 twin filament bulbs, and even worse, popping the rubber cover off the back to try and see what was fitted I discovered that it looks like whatever they are, are screwed in, with 'star' screws so god knows what they are - no wonder the new printed manual does not give any bulb references and suggest going to a specialist garage to change them!!

How many "star" screws in each lamp unit? The H4 bulb holders in the "early" Citigo have a T10 Torx screw to hold the bulb retaining spring in place.

For the main beam units there look like two, the low beam I can't see properly as it is set back and tight for space, I can see one but there may be more. Makes what would be tight job of unclipping an H4 fitting and replacing the bulb into something else!!

When I get a chance I will get out there with a mirror and try and take some pictures!

They won't be screwed in I guarantee. The low beam is likely a h7 and the high beam a h1

and this is the low beam bulb  post-89242-0-36702500-1476105469_thumb.jpg

Sorry about the quality - not easy getting the phone in there to take them -!
