If it was twisty roads then I think its fair to say the Ferrari did not have a safe opportunity to overtake you...

'Bottled' isnt the word I would use' date=' more driving briskley/moderatley safely but not like a tw@ putting people lifes in danger with dangerous overtaking.

Of course I could have the wrong end of the stick but thats how it comes accross to me.[/quote']

No it was on the 3 lane A12, I would boot it when the the lane ahead was clear, must'ave caught him in the wrong gear 'cos he could catch me very rapidly, but I would pull at least 5 or 6 car lengths on him before he'd reel me in, the had to back off due to traffic etc, this went on for about 5 or 10min, then he must have had enough and pulled into inside lane and stayed there, thats what I meant by bottling it!!!

  • 3 weeks later...

Just had a little fun with a Merc C180 kompressor. onto duel carriageway he decided to over take on some chevrons so I thought... no. I had him till 110 then he just kept going, and I bottled it...

How fast are the anyway? Such a rep's car!

Not as fast as an Octy vRS :):rofl::D

I overtook and beat a 1L Metro the other day, It was a close thing and I almost had to break into a jog :P

Oh, I also got trounced on by a Toyota Supra - no surprise there then. :)

But what gave me satisfaction was that 1) My presence made him floor it 2? He ripped the guts out of his car doing it - horrble grey dust/smoke from petrol exhaust isnt a good thing??!!??

Not very fast! A measly 143bhp as standard......

Chris

There was a good thread on scoobynet.'I was beaten off the lights by a UFO'

Selection of quality replies including what sort of BHP do they pack etc etc.

I reckon if it was the big one off Close Encounters of the Third Kind it would be kind of slow. The little ones looked jabbad though.Could have been one of those babies :)

I reckon I should add this morning's adventures to this thread.

Ford Racing Puma 0 - 1 Jabba'd Octy.

I was with a convoy of TVRs going gently (there's always someone want to keep to speed limits!), just enjoying the sunshine, when a tarted-up Nova worked his way past, overtaking on blind bends, taking massive risks, until he got away. My instincts were to go after him to show him what performance is all about, but my partner screamed the way she does so I slowed down.

He's probably still bragging to his mates about how fast his car is, and how skilful he was. Or, maybe he's still in hospital recovering from some overtaking.

Often its all about how much risk you want to take, and how much you value your licence. But its fun isn't it.
