As a mechanic I drive a few different cars and my Octy brakes are super super sharp! I used to drive a MG ZT 190 (BMW braking system) which were sharp but not Octy sharp.

and my vRS comes specked with as std

1. cruise control

2. A stereo which isn't sat nav

3. electric windows (what car hasn't nowadays?)

4 Four wheels

5. no spare wheel (getting much more common in all cars)

5 steering wheel........................... :-D

Clarkson should be more careful with his opinions. I remember the Vectra getting a hammering from him which didn't help anyone.

It helped every person that didn't buy one.

Vectra B was in production for 7 years so I don't think Vx reduced the length of time they wanted the 'B' to run for. Was supposedly 3000 odd changes from Pre to Facelift though so they must have took notice of the criticism from journo's/customers. Had my Facelift GSi for 8 years and bloody loved it. Now got a prefacelift VRS TDi and very much enjoying ownership experience so far. I certainly wont take much notice of a twot like Clarkson when choosing a car.

It's quite funny nowadays about the snobbery towards Skoda. Been camping for a few day with a couple of mates from my Vectra ownership days and even they was (in fun) constantly taken the pee out of the 'skip' as they called it. Any Skoda owners in the South Dorset area this last few days and noticed a Blue VRS going past,with a couple of divs following in a Vectra waving at them, That was them. Took the smile off one of them though when I blitzed them at a traffic light getaway (twice) and I wasn't even really trying as the mrs would have told me off.

Who is this "Clarkson" that you speak of?

The bloke's a knobhead - skoda vrs (whichever model) is bulletproof and value for money

Guys Clarkson is a bloke who has had a long and funny career in the car entertainment industry. His shows make me chuckle and people have said earlier he provoke reactions and will continue to do so. If you want boring facts watch 5th Gear.
