Memory seats

Featured Replies

Hi, guys,

A major gripe with the memory seats is that the system won't allow me to set a position with the back rest too far back. I like to lean back, but Skoda deem this unsafe and won't let the car establish a memory setting. To get the "memory chime", I have to set the backrest to what for me is a ludicrously upright driving position; no way on God's earth can I live with this.

Does anyone know if this restriction can be over-ridden in VCDS? I have VCDS myself but can't find a meaningful reference to this setting - has anyone ever done it?

Cheers.

Mine does not have that problem as I have two positions for my seat, one for driving and one for getting in and out. The latter position is with the seat right back on its travel and reclined quite a long way so the the seat squab does not suffer the getting in and out damage to the bolster section.

May be I am lucky but perhaps there is another problem with your seat.

There is a recall of sorts that reprograms the controller - may be worth talking to your dealer

Mine is what I would deem as pretty laid back and it remembers the position just fine. Be worth checking it with dealer as like said above, thier is some Skoda advisory notice kicking about for this.

The service bulletin code for the seats update is / was 70E8. I have a sticker on the bodywork next to the wheel well in the boot (under the carpet and polystyrene) showing this code and the date it was applied by the dealer (1/6/12 is what is says). You could have a quick look to see if yours has been done before going to a dealer.

Thanks, Goat; I'm going to follow that up.

Hi all, sorry to jump in on the original posters thread, but what was the recall for, ie what problem caused them to update the programming. It's just my seat isn't working fully. It makes all the movements, holding 1 will shift the seat to the position I first set, but seemingly I can't set any new positions to either presets 1, 2 or 3.

Sorry, I don't know, but mine is working fine so whatever they did, it works. Might be able to google the 70E8 code?
