Octavia VRS Blackline

Featured Replies

Good morning this is my first post. I have ordered a VRS Blackline and been given a delivery date of mid October. I have since read others quoting their delivery dates in January.

Has anyone taken delivery of one?

What dates are people being given?

This topic has 14 pages in the octavia 2 section! I can't post link on my phone... Enjoy ur Blackline

I did my first pre delivery inspection on one last week, so someone has one already :)

I believe the black lines are already made and just in the process of arriving in uk. So think these are all scheduled between now and end of October.

It's us poor people with factory order standard models that are waiting till nov/dec/jan.

Enjoy our car when it arrives great choice

Picked up mine yesterday...happy days...

Ordered Race Blue Blackline 2 weeks ago, pick up tomorrow (been brought over from depot in Belgium).

Originally wanted white but all sold / pre-ordered. Told I'd have to wait 3 months for the cheaper, and arguably, the best looking colour.

Looking forward to driving a vRS for the first time tomorrow, just hoping all the reviews are accurate.

Bit of a risk spending £18.5K on something you've not driven!!

Sure it will be a good work-horse to get from A-B.

Taking delivery of mine today :)

Picked up mine today ;)

Pleasantly surprised that insurance was less than for 2.0 petrol Passat that it has replaced, at £300.48/annum, with no vol excess, protected bonus, legal fees, etc (the advantage of being 45 and living in the middle of nowhere!).

Oh, insured through LV if it helps anyone else.

Finally collected mine yesterday. Candy white with D20 VRS reg. :giggle: The only thing I'm a bit disappointed about is that I had previously been under the impression they came with MDI input but don't see any. Also, besides the alloys, is there any way to tell for sure it's a Blackline and not just a vRS with the Neptune option?

Hmm...

Yes, it's easy, look on your registration document, it clearly states blackline on mine!

If you're really vain and want everyone else to know it's a blackline I suggest you photocopy and laminate your registration document and put a copy in each window, lol :giggle:

Haha. Funny. I'm just thinking down the road for whenever it comes around to selling time. Saw it on the V5C but just wondered.

I have had Demon Graphics punch out some Vrs Blackline. side graphics in brush script, in black 2 off about 20" long, 2" high caps for sides, and 1x 6"x1" Blackline for rear under Octavia or Vrs badge. we will see how it looks when they arrive by the way the Blackline is candy white.I have put another post on here about to much unbroken white on the sides so i am just trying to break it up a bit without going OTT.

Picked mine up 2weeks ago in race blue metalic. Don't know what ur driving at the mo but I'm ova the moon with mine. 50mpg too. I ordered without a test drive-had a 1.4 se plus before. Chalk and cheese. Absolutly no regrets. If u can take out the finance do it even if u have the cash. Gives u another £500 off and 3 years free servicing. I paid the finance off as soon as the paperwork arrived and still got the benefits. Just trying to sort some flaps out now then I'm done

Hi Techbajan,

Don't know how you thought u'd get the MDI on the vrS bl. My dealer told me it didn't come with it, so has yours told u different as it's not shown as being included in the brochure? On the plus side it does have the sd card slot so u can put your mp3 music on a card which are cheap these days

Yea, I know. I've already gotten myself a 32GB.

Welcome to Briskoda.

500 miles in with race blue vrs blackline and averaging 53mpg, expect this will improve as engine beds in!

Initially disappointed with single CD player which I thought was a multi-changer (not only did I not test drive my first skoda I also clearly didn't spend much time reading up on the spec!). However, spent a day downloading the best of the 60's and 70's rock albums on 16gb SD card and now can't get used to having an empty glove box and questioning why the car needs a CD player in the first place. And just to think I now have 20 hours of Pink Floyd / Gilmour available at the simple press of the touchscreen!

As I've previously reported, and for anyone considering a vrs, the road noise can be a little loud on rough surfaces and ride is firm as you'd expect for a car with a vrs badge. These are minor points and I have to say I'm absolutely made up with the car. It's build quality seems great as is the flexibility of a car that delivers good mpg but at the same time has good turn of speed for overtaking trucks and tractors on the A roads of Cheshire.

Absolutely no regrets moving away from VW Passat. Makes me smile that there are so many lemmings out there (including BMW and Audi drivers) that care about image and brand so much that are willing to pay several thousands more. Let's keep it a secret ;)

Hi griffo, know just what u mean. My golf club car park has a few run of the mill beemers with m packs. All dressed up and not a lot of go.....only downsides so far with the blackline are other drivers. Been cut up by a merc 220 estate who was desperate to get past and a plonker in a mini cooper desperate for a race ragging his poor little car to death. In both instances I was speed legal and let them get on with it so looks like people notice them! Overtakes on A roads was why I bought mine too. Cheers Ade

Tempted by black line but isn't octavia replaced next year. Love my vrs since I got it in 2010 but starting to fancy a change now,

new octy is due out next year which is probably why they built the 500 blacklines- My understanding is that they've all gone and that your only hope is to try and prise a demonstrator from a dealer, but expect to pay the same price. Altenatively you could buy a standard vRS, still get the vat back but not get the 2k's worth of free upgrades the blackline has. upside is you'd get a better choice of colours if you didn't want black, blue or white. I would expect you wouldn't get the vat back on the new model so it'd cost you 3 1/2 g more

Steve,

1 thing that set an alarm bell ringing in your original post was that some were being delivered in jan 2013. My dealer has told me they are all gone so I'm wondering if the dealer actually placed an order. I say this because one of the tricks the motor trade use is to take your order even though there's no cars available so you can't go elsewhere. I'm not saying this is the case here but makes you wonder. I know that my dealer has to log on to skoda's national stock list and has to 'commit to buy' on that site in order to get his cars. Not sure how special orders are progressed, but as the blackline has no extras available and he told me the stock available on line when I ordered mine and that it was on the continent in their central holding location this matches other comments I've seen so I've no reason to question what he says is anything other than correct. Hope I've got tis wrong otherwise there could be some dissappointed people out there after christmas

Only 499 other lucky people - as rare a rocking horse **** -- and at such a bargain price - Happy Days!!

I have the part number for rocking horse **** if you need it, though I have my suspicions about the 500 as no numbers were given with each car which they've done before!
