Octavia 3?

Featured Replies

VAG have always stated that SEAT are the sporty brand right back to 2001, that's why they have the Cupra, Cupra R etc. We get a vRS and that's its which is less powerfull with lower spec than the Cupra brand.

Audi = Prestige

VW = Quality range

Seat = Sporty

Skoda = Cheap end of the market, offering good value for money.

Things have been heading back this way for a while, with the Superb having less equipment recently, cheaper carpet etc. The vRS is a sporty car, but lacks equipment found in the Cupra.

You may be right but i still maintain there will not be a 3.0 6 cyl engine in any VAG mainstream car in the next generation but this is only speculation on my part. The way its going the next VRS might have a 1.4 tsi engine. Oh dear. I actually like the look of the new seat leon i just hope they tidy up the interiors a bit, the current ones have a humongous slab of plastic in the centre console, its horrid. I hope skoda dont become too budget based as a superb would be on my shopping list next time i think. It is weird though that the superb is far classier than the passat you think they would have had that the other way round and made the skoda version more mainstream.

  • Why? Has it stopped raining?

  • Hard to tell a great deal from those photos, expect that it looks nicely proportioned.

I for one have been fed up waiting for the new Octavia

Why? It's not late. Skoda haven't promised it will be here by halloween. It's not like Octavia II *needs* to be replaced, could easily have another face-lift and make-over and last another 3-5 years. The newer technologies don't need a new shell to sit in. IIRC FL didn't have stop-start when they were introduced.

That's why I didn't buy a Cupra. Yes, really.

The Octavia interior is a much nicer place to sit.

Once my eyes have recovered from the Dazzle Camouflage, it looks pretty good and seems to be what the Rapid promised but on initial examination, hasn't delivered.

It's now on my 'list' along with the A/S5.

You have a Octavia and a an S5 on your list? EH. One costs circa £20k and the other around £60k. I presume you are buying them both and the octy will be a run about as generally they are a bit diverse for being on one persons car shopping list.

Posted in another thread, its not unmasked. you can see where a fake current style grill is stuck on, and black tape on the side of the headlights hiding the shape.

My bad missed that thread ;)

Almost unmasked then!

Looks like the b pillars now have black covers.

finally!!!

Skoda should be positioned above Seat in the order purely because skoda is making a profit. Seat ain't made a profit for a few years and have made a few big losses the past few years.

It'll be time to move on the Octy for me i about 18 months (barring any big bills) and a 2yr old Optima with 5yr of warranty left is quite appealing. As long as it doesn't some with those stinking alloys I've seen on some of them.

Optima is a great looking car, I had a look at one, to me, its the engines that let it down, they need a 2litre 180+hp and it would be in my garage, plus its about time skoda added at least a 5yr warranty.
