What did/would you get after the VRS?

Featured Replies

I'm not selling up for a long time, gonna get my money's worth out of it lol. When the time comes to replace it, I will probaly be on the hunt for a BMW 330D or maybe even a 5 series. I'm happy enough at the moment though tbh.

I would only be ditching my vRS for a petrol drinking monster I reckon.... Something like an S2000 with a Mugen turbo on it I reckon!!

  • I'm moving to a Mk1 vRS beater with a funny shaped van-like exterior.....

  • After the Fabia 1 vRS the only way that ticked all the boxes, for us, was the Octvia TDi vRS

Ive only got a mk1 1.4 at the moment but after it will be a vrs :p and after that when the moneys better for me i would love to try a Alfa 147 or 159 (130bhp up)

Far to many cars to think of. I'm leaning towards an s4 or something similar, but for the running costs of the fab and power of the hybrid etc not much point in changing just yet. Wouldn't mind something rare or classic thought. Tvr always comes to mind

Corsa VXR is my next car

theyre really not that fun yano, id prefer my mapped VRS

Ended up getting a LR Freelander 2. Needed practical & better over speed humps :-)

Would probably still have the VRS if it wasn't for the leaky doors. Fun car.

I see two more threads about people selling up!

First loads of threads about turbo failure, now loads about selling up!

Well I'll be keeping mine for a while, new job didn't come off so no shiny Type R for me! At least until the Fabia's actually paid for in ~12 months...

Had my MK1 Vrs from new for 8 years now and awaiting delivery of MK2 Vrs Rallye Green Metallic, Black Roof and Dark Chrome wheels. My MK1 never missed a beat and doesn't owe me anything I hope the same will be with the MK2.

There is a guy in Huntingdon with the same green and black scheme on his new mk2 vrs and it looks mean, good choice.

I'm convinced my next car will be something Japanese, probably a Civic Type R (EP9 shape). There's a nice looking modified one near me which (if a potential job change comes off) I'll be going to have a nose at ASAP, otherwise it'll have to wait until I'm a little bit richer as I'm expecting the running costs to be relatively brutal compared to my vRS.

I got a EP3. never really looked back. Only problem is the running costs...Live while you can afford it i say (still live at home hha)

Really miss my Fabia VRS, went with aToyota Auris T180 for 8months, hated it so now have an Audi A3 TDI 140, well at least I'm back in a VAG car. Would have bought an Octavia 2 VRS but the wife don't like 'em, shame really.

Mini Cooper S.. or Vauxhall Astra SRI 150 1.9CDTI... Both tempting and around the same price range.. Keeping my Fabia till the new year at least though :)

I would love an Octava Blackline!!! Cant think of anything else i like that much really appart from a Scirocco.

Indeed, if I still lived with my parents it'd be a no-brainer. But if I bought one with my current finances and commuting, I'd very quickly be testing out the old adage "you can live in your car, but you can't race your house..."

I'm too tempted by a Corsa VXR!

why dont ya get the sri and map it? insurance will be cheaper

I'm happy enough with the Fabia ATM :) I want to see what all this hybrid turbo hype is about too! ;)

I wouldnt recommend the Mini - I had a Cooper JCW before my fabia - its good fun for sure but they have no room in them and you are always at the fuel pumps !! I would keep the fabia and get it mapped and if you get a suspension set up like mine it will handle as good as the cooper. I personally wouldnt even consider an astra !!

That's like just getting a standard fabia diesel. It's never going to be a vrs. I don't know if people are the same as me but that would always be in the back of my mind when I see one. I couldn't do that.

Well I did chop the Fabia in for an Astra 1.6 Twinport and glad I did, it shows up the many design faults associated with the Fabia.

The ride in a Fabia is akin to being in a bath tub on a high sea whilst the Astra is similar to riding in a limo.

Above all, mine returns 58 MPG and that includes driving round the M25 on a Friday night.

That blue octy on the last page is stunning. I wont be getting shot of mine for a long time the money it is costing me but if i did i would love that octy or keep the fab and get a weekend car like a little old mini with some sort of engine swap.
