Last toy I bought before the Fabia was this a VX220, its the 2.2 (not the turbo model) however its accidentally got a supercharger fitted :p

now that's just damn careless :D

SWMBO has a BMW 116i. Just because she likes them.

After 7 1/2 years of Skoda Ownership my wife and I both no longer have our Skoda's as they couldn't fulfill our needs..

We have a Renault Laguna 3 estate, bought it to put my bike on the roof and camping gear in the boot and because they octy mk1 was getting tired and it got bumped outside my house so was tainted. Didn't go for another skoda because I think they've gone too expensive at the minute.

We also have a fiat grande Punto 1.2 bought it for the wife because its dirt cheap to run and easy to fix.

BMW 335i has gone now replaced by octavia VRS tdi estate loved the fun in the BMW but it was unreliable and we had a little girl so a coupe was no longer a sensible option mrs loves the octavia more than halved her running costs.

I've got a Nissan pathfinder which I use for work it's my second on after the first was bomb proof I bought another and gave the old one to my dad it's now on about 135000 miles with normal services no other faults at all. I do keep looking at a 4x4 superb estate for myself instead of a proper 4x4 after being so happy with the octavia but we shall see.

My weekend toy is now a Diahatsu fourtrak made into a pickup for offloading cost me peanuts and reliable as hell but I do miss having a fast car to play in since the BMW went.

Mate of mine has a pathfinder. He loves it but it's starting to rust badly at just 5yr old.

Just a baby supercharger in fairness (260bhp worth!) However there is a group buy for Harrops atm on VX220's forums meaning 360bhp... must resist!

Apart from my Fabia, my partner has a Toyota Yaris 1.0VVTi TR on a 10plate. She purchased this for a number of reasons after having a Ford Fusion for 8 years!

1: Cheap road tax. £30.00 a year

2 Rear seats slide foward to make room for the dog on short journeys.

3: Classy interior compared to my bland but functional Fabia

4: Loads of chubby holes and storage space for a small car.

5: Airy interior due to loads of glass.

6: 3 cylinder engine tone!

7: Good trade in.

8: Build Quality

9: Excellent customer service by Toyota.

10: Does average 52mpg

I quite like Toyotas! Shame they are concentrating on petrol hybrid`s rather than diesels.

So far in my 1st year of driving ive had 3 Skoda's.

1) W reg Fabia 1.4 16V Elegance - October2011-May2012 - Sold because it was too expensive to insure & run on 98 octane

2) Y Reg Fabia 1.4 MPI Comfort - May2012-September2012 - Sold because the tax was high (£240), and it was stupidly uneconomical despite how fun it could be to drive (No ASR/ABS although the 1st fabia didnt have ASR either!)

3) 62 Plate CitiGo Elegance 75PS Greentec 3Dr - September2012 - todate - Awesome little car!

But! if i couldnt have a skoda I would probably bought the Alfa Romeo Mito 1.4 MultiAir 'cuz i just love em!

Mate of mine has a pathfinder. He loves it but it's starting to rust badly at just 5yr old.

Jesus that's not good the older one is just under 7 years old now no rust in sight get him o take it back

Wow, it's great to see so many variables out there. In case anybody is wondering why I asked this question, well years ago I belonged to the Saab club having one of the original pre GM 900 Turbos. It was always a brand that you either loved or didn't, there seemed to be no middle ground. Club members invariably had more than one Sabb in the household and tried to fit the car to their lifestyle rather than the other way round. For example, before GM came on the scene the nearest to an estate would have been a 9000 hatch, so that would have been the car of choice, not always the cleverest way of getting the best out of your money. In my household we have a Superb Elegance estate - cos there seems to be nothing to beat it at the price, quality or kit, even if you spend a lot more on other marques. A nine year old Mazda Demio (bet you don't remember them!), bought new for pocket change when the first Mazda 2 had been announced. Great little all round town car, bought primarily for the dog, shopping etc. and my wife has her Nissan 370Z 40th Anniversary edition with the partial red interior, just because she loves it. With all the makes out there I don't suppose anyone has an old Gordon Keeble GK1 lying around they don't want?

Hmm...

1) Skoda Fabia Comfort Estate TDi Y-reg owned from new in 2001. It's one of the very early estates that came in as even though it's a comfort it doesn't have roof rails (they were still awaiting type approval when we purchased). It was bought after seeing it at the Motorshow where we'd gone to look for a replacement for an aged Mitsubishi Colt. We went looking at the Octavia 4x4 but it wasn't available as a diesel at that stage and my wife was doing 450 miles a week across the Pennines. We saw the Fabia Estate, thought it fitted the bill so as soon as they were available through the dealer later that year picked one up. It came with 6 miles on the clock, now has nearly 130,000 and is still in daily use.

2) Skoda Octavia 4x4 Estate TDi 07 plate owned from being 3 months old. When our second daughter arrived we decided we needed some more space but were still on the lookout for 4x4 ability given my wifes daily commute across the Pennines so went looking at Octavias.

3) Mazda MX5 Mk1 1.8iS on an M-plate. Owned since 1998 and unlikely to ever be sold. Why? because it is simply a fantastic car - entertaining handling, good performance, reliable to boot and simply the best of it's type. It's also pretty rare being the Laguna Blue colour.

Me: W Reg Skoda Fabia 1.4 16V Elegance. Only had it a couple of months, never initially wanted a Fabia, much preferred Polos, but then this came up with 57k on it (ticked over 60,000 today!) with full history and it was a high spec, and my mate was selling it. Too good to miss and I fell in love when I drove it (apart from the BEIGE! interior :D )

Mum: Y Reg VW Polo 6N2, bottom spec and needed something to replace a tired Vauxhall Agila of the same age. No kit on it to go wrong, pretty quick, low miles again with full history and immaculate like the Furby, and cheap enough to take out no finance on it, and I'm still insured on it so I sometimes nick it for it's go kart like drive.

Dad: 02 Reg Merc A170 CDI Avantgarde LWB. Fully loaded with everything to go wrong (including factory sat nav which with a recent map update is fantastic), goes like stink and pretty economical despite being auto. Again was a good enough price to not have to take finance and he needed a car after his X plate Freelander decided it no longer liked it's clutch hydraulics. To be fair, 200k on original clutch it damned good, and 200k out of a Freelander is amazing. The XEDi is a great engine... just a shame about the car!

Between us: 1981 VW Transporter Westfalia Joker - Fully restored and fully loaded by me and my old man (body and paint done professionally), left hooker, 1.6 naturally asthmatic diesel so SLOW! Looks spot on, can't miss it and when touring France and UK the last couple of years, it hasn't missed a beat.

Currently have a Porsche and a Volvo. Would like to sell on both to be honest! :D The volvo more than the Porker.

Me: fabia Vrs and a 1999 ford fiesta road track slag.

Finacee. Nothing ATM trying to get hold of a nice FRP (ford racing puma) for her to replace her old puma

My mums house: my mum has a mini Cooper 2007 and her fella has a BMW m5 v10 2006 that. Shifts! Step sister 1996 Evo 4 in grey and my step bro has a drift spec ( yes daily driver) Nissan Silvia ps13 1990 white pink rotas!

My dads house: Honda civc type r ep3 2001 40k doesnt drive it to work or during the week waisted car.. Still trying to get it off him cheap haha

Sister

Edited by ollievrsDERV

Sister used to have an astra mk4 2.2 currently has no car.

I only have 2 cars. Not bad for a student I suppose! Obviously the Fabia Vrs which is at university with me, amazed what I fitted into when moving in, gets me the 200 miles from uni to home rather quickly!

Then there is my pride and joy, brought when I was 15 with god knows how much money have been spent on it to restore and to get its current spec, ,my 1987 Austin Mini:

309120_10152135413870451_1573409962_n.jpg

Currently with a mildly tuned 1275 from a metro. Still need to change the final drive so it doesn't scream so much in 4th on motorways! Lives back home and is used only really in summer to attend lots of mini shows :)

The mother has an almost brand new Mini Cooper Coupe with JCW body and interior kit on it. Looks like an elephant sat on the back of a normal bini! Not a bad engine and handles quite well.

The father has an 06 Passat TDI Sport 170bhp thing as company car, on its 3rd gearbox and second turbo at 170K but work keeps fixing it when he really want an upgrade!

The sister has an awful 1.4 ****roen C3 possibly the most underpowered thing I had even been in!

It's good that so many ex. Skoda owners/drivers are still active Briskoda Forum users. In this case the forum is the most important than the car that is currently owned. I certainly like the conversation/banter here.

Fiesta ST, soon to be departing to make way for something else, not too sure what yet though

Currently the driveway is holding...

- my BMW

- my Fabia

- mum & dad's brace of Civics...

Dad wouldn't mind an Octavia, but it's not going to be for a while yet...

Everyday car and fun car.

Well they are both fun really.

The 16v was and always will be my favourite, there is also a strange rumour circulating that I have recently taken delivery of an Audi ur quattro but so far this is only speculation

My first proper car at 18 H reg golf GTi 16v I loved that car I traded it for a vr6 which I didn't rate half as much, I do keep looking at them tempted to buy one as a weekend toy although the corrado maybe a better investment. You need to get that back together they're cars to be driven

My OH's vehicle is a Series 2 Discovery, because we tow a horse trailer and I don't think the Roomster is really up to it!

It's very nice sitting up there in a comfy armchair with a good view of the world. Downside is that it uses twice as much fuel as the Roomster.

Daughter has a 307 estate.

So we have 12 cylinders between us, but in three different configurations!
