What other makes of cars do you own other than Skoda and why?

Featured Replies

As well as my trusty '99 Octy TDI, I have a 2012 Nissan GT-R in pearl white.

The GT-R has the edge in performance - the Octy has the edge in carrying 10 bags of gravel and 2 fence posts.

Daihatsu Sirion with Toyota-based 1.3 engine. Dull but sooo reliable, cheap to run. Bought to replace previous Sirion which was 1.0 litre triple. In 9 years of town driving besides an exhaust and battery it suffered one fault, a perished master brake cylinder seal. Totally recommend as a shopping trolley and school run for mums.

In recent years, have had ST220, Focus ST3, E36 M3 Evo saloon, Saab 9000 Aero and a Volvo 850R.

Now have PD170 Octy VRS as I needed an economical car with decent grunt, good handling and space for a family. It's great, but a bit characterless even with a Shark map and DPF delete. Bought as we'd been so impressed with the wife's Fabia.

Wife's Fabia VRS mk1. Just a fabulous little car, would prefer a better interior though!

Finally, my 4th Elise - a S1 with various sensible mods including Nitrons, stainless exhaust manifold, sports exhaust and Sport 160 alloys. Had various ones up to 315 bhp (s/c Honda K20a) but had long since learnt that power isn't everything, the handling of a S1 is truly sublime and I love open top motoring.

I have a 1986 Daihatsu Charade 1.0 3 cyl. Only have it as it was gifted from my godfather. Mom has a 2004 Mk1 Octavia ambiente estate 1.6. Interesting thing is that they both use the same amount of fuel. Lovely car, the Octavia. My car has "nothing to go wrong" yet almost everything has needed changing. The engine's now being changed due to piston #3 having holes in it. It is a fairly ok car though

I had a spell away from Skoda, but came back with the Fabia. I'll be picking up my new Citigo tommorrow to replace it :)

In general the whole family are Skoda fans. Mum n Dad have an Octy estate, I'll have my Citigo, my sister is changing her Hyundai i20 for a Citigo too, my brother changed his Octy vRS (with regret) for a Golf Plus and his SWMBO still has her 6 year old Yaris

What I want to see next from Skoda is a Citigo vRS with the turbo 1.0 triple :giggle:

1976 Triumph TR7

In addition to a 2011 Superb estate, I have a 2005 Mondeo ST220 and my wife drives a 2004 Mercedes SLK 200.
