Pet hate modifications

Featured Replies

Wheels, spoilers, body kits, engine mods, Interior mods ,the list is endless. Some mods I smile at,some I privately laugh at,some I think are rather smart  (good wheels always enhance a cars appearance) Some I just think why?

Surely there must be one that annoys you or at least concern you as to the owners reasoning.I think those stupid 'spinners' are perhaps the worst thing that have ever come onto the market  Who in their right mind would buy them  I've seen them on a newish Range Rover (ruin a good car why don't you) and an old fiesta. Both ends of the scale really.Madness :D

Go on,purge yourself. What do you think looks 'wrong 'quite frankly

Anything that looks like it's been driven straight through Ripspeed.

Lexus lights, Scooby-style bonnet scoops, baked bean can backboxes, VTA dump valves, M3 style mirrors, chrome door handles and mirrors, LED washer jets, blue sidelights, single wiper conversion......... hmmmm better stop now to let someone else have a go ;)

Chris

1. Stick on "rally" petrol filler caps (the ones with the "screws" around the edge)

2. That stupid bit of metal MG stick on the rear valance above the exhaust

3. Debadging - why buy a particular brand of car in the first place?

I could go on .... :D

Edit: Damn you Chris - you got some of the best ones there! :)

Pointless LED washer jets.

I can't stand body modifications on really boring, everyday cars. I love true custom cars (be it Beetles, or 30's/40's/50's American cars, or even Ford Pops and Zephyrs), but why would you bother with body mods on something as common and dull as a Saxo, Civic, Mondeo, or in fact any modern 'family' car, even if it's a hot hatch?

They just look stupid, and most of the mods are bolt-on or filler, so they're not even skillful.

Show me a channelled and tubbed Chevy with a blown big block, though...

Big break upgrade, remaps, big turbos, sports cats, uprated suspension, bushes, lower profile stiffer tyres, FMICs, cupra intakes..... the list goes on :grumpy:

They cost me a bloody fortune they do! :D

If you can't spell "brakes" you don't deserve any! :D :nono:

What, I'm not allowed to "hate" people for taking 4 hours for lunch? :harumph:

;)

agree with most of the above apart from grumpy but some i don't agree with, atmospheric dump valves are cool, if i could i'd have one on the skoda :D

i was thinking of fitting spinner hubcaps to the carlton :o (just for a laugh you understand)

those stupid hubcaps that look like alloys, fake 'shark fin' aeriels that don't do anything, listing tuning parts/companies down the front of you car, the chrome trims for you exhaust that big it look big and shiny when every can see your pea shooter

the chrome trims for you exhaust that big it look big and shiny when every can see your pea shooter

BMW fit them as standard - if you look at the twin pipes on the back of some Beemers you can see it's a twin pipe trim stuck on a single pipe coming out of the back box!

I'm pretty much with Richard, Ripspeed or anything chav!

has anyone else noticed the exhaust on the mondeo ST TDCI???

its got a big straight shiney outlet, look closely and you'll see its a normal diesel exit that points down with a straight chrome bit welded on to 'look sporty'

spinners you say... how about spinners for your sub's !?

i kid you not, while paroosing the Redline rumble show yesterday i came across a stand selling a crome effect spinner that fixes over your sub and spins when the sub plays.

oh and a new invention for those people out there that dont own a turbo'd car. a speaker thats goes under the car somewhere and makes a ppptttssshhh noise when the engine is revved .....

class

Neon lights, spinners, bean cans, 21" rims on Corsa's/Punto's etc.. Any mod on a bottom of the range car - Why?

Unless it's the best in the range, it demonstrates that the purchaser bought the wrong car!

Lexus style lights - has anyone else noticed how Lexus have moved away from them on the new models? Rather like Burberry withdrawing their baseball cap.

...And dump valves, don't let me forget those!

Sorry Bengie!

Massive 19" Cart-wheel style alloys on hatchbacks eg. Meganes, with tiny brake discs showing behind them, makes them look ****, jelly-mould bodykits for old-style corsas, the one that really gets me is BMW drivers who stick an M division badge on their car and leave the 320d/ 318si badge there as well. So we're to believe you have an M3 diesel then? Although doubt if its too far away tbh...

Actually, I think spinners look good on large SUVs like Chevys and Fords and Lincolns...not Range Rovers no no...

Hmmm...

Don't like to see a normal car that's got a poorly made custom-kit with a poor paint-job, and on top of that he has steel wheels running..a laugh though...there are a couple of private cabs here..90s corollas...the drivers go ahead and get themselves hub-caps with spinners on them...now THAT is a funny sight...

Don't like those stick on filler caps, don't like shark fins, don't like those fake xenons that shine blue in the cluster during the day...alot of crap mods available today..

badly applied window tints with creases and air bubbles... shocking

big f1 style spoiler thats wider than the corsa its fitted on!

Hate to see Corsas/Saxos/any other roller skates with loads of stickers down the front edge of the front door.

They purport to have had about

People who spent more money modifying their Mum's shopping car than the car is actually worth and general young boy racers - just embarrassing looking at them...

Here's and idea - save up and buy yourself a car which comes with alloys/bodykits that actually suit the car and dont look like a paper mache primary school project gone wrong... Time for breath...Oh, and all of the above... :)

Mmmmm Good Thread :)

Sad LED washer jets, Impreza and Evo bonnet scoops not fitted to an evo or scoob, any other stick on vents that serve no purpose at all, The chaving up of really cool cars that just do not deserve chaving such as a corrado or golf!

Windscreen sunstrips which say Wayne and Sharon etc. :grumpy:
