Not really annoying as I have never seen either of these, but the two most ridicolous mods from "pimp my ride"

1. The TV underneath the SUV protected by plexiglass so that he guy could watch TV as he was working on the underside of the car.

2. The electric fireplace mounted in the back of the blazer (stupid to start with but then when you think that the car was going to be driven in LA!!!!)

I really hate;

Brake drums painted with caliper paint :thumbdwn:

Awful bodykits with tiny alloy wheels :thumbdwn:

Neons :thumbdwn:

and many many other things... :D

Oh dear :o - does Hammerite attract your disapproval also? (My MG's brake drums are painted dark red)

i hate those fake clip on discs that go on the back, they don't have any calipers!!

ICE and all that goes with it.

you hate aftermarket stereo's??

why out of interest?

I think I know what he means - when it has to be called ICE, it's no longer just a stereo, it's the whole "mine's louder than yours" thing :D

but mine would be considered ICE with a screen on the stereo, an extra screen on the way, 2 subs, 3 amps, after market speakers and a few other things but i don't go round looking for 'competition', i like my music and sometimes i like it loud.

Each to their own.... I have to admit that even though I like listening to music, I can't understand spending hundreds if not thousands on a stereo in a music-hostile environment like a car, but if it floats your boat, go for it.

anything that you can make watching blue Peter, a trip to B+Q, some duct tape and three baked bean tins.....

That vauxhall Nova isd brilliant! What were they thinking? Unless its gone some ripped V8 under the hood no car needs 3, yes 3 tin cans coming out of the boot... Priceless

that's my mates car!!!!!!

the grey one on the left, what it doesn't say in the pic is that its actually a 150bhp 2.0 8v :D

was very funny going round oxford in it

and by the way all the exhausts worked and came up through the spare wheel well

Should have gone the whole hog and brought them up through the boot lid

in a "Bat mobile stylie" !!

thats what he wants to do with the carlton :o

how about this little beauty.....

slightly ott that one, smaller wing maybe ;)

Oh..I agree with him...not after market stereo's...but the whole fact that everyone wants an incredibly loud system for show-off purposes...that completely messes up your hearing..I mean, 4 subs giving out 300W RMS each? That should shatter your windows. The threshold of pain for the ear is 140dB SPL, and anymore than that will damage the ear completely.

I go for decent sound, audible, clear sound. And the whole TV thing with everyone putting screens on headrests and stuff...that's absolutely ridiculous...our taxis have those here, and it's used purely for advertising. For GPS I would understand putting one in the front, but in the rear, it just becomes a waste of money.

Thats what I like to see - understated modifications that both enhance performance without destroying the original good looks of the car...

...so "Footwell LEDs, Green Neons" are acceptable but screens in headrests are absolutely rediculous eh?

Yes...why not? They don't do any harm to the ear or eyes, and they're cheap too. You can spend a sh*tload of cash on a 5000W system for a car, but it wouldn't make any sense to, it's not like you can drive with it blasting in max volume, your ears would fall apart. I deal with audio so I know what I'm saying here.

The footwell LEDs are ambient, kind of like how you open a new BMW and you get footwell lights, only mine is red. And as far as neons go, it's nice to see a low-rider drive by with the only green neons in the emirate ;)

The headrests...like I said...only cab drivers and pornowheelers use 'em...

Money has got nothing to do with it. Without wanting to get into an arguement which i'd be a bit of a hypocrite to do, i would disagree with you point about doing harm to your eyes - my eyes are quite offended by bright red interior lighting effects :D

...and secondly - you say you can't use a 5kW system inside a car because your ears would fall apart. If you use that argument then one could also say that by the same token you can't use neons when you are inside a car because you can't see them... ;)

Oh and lastly - i have many friends who have kids and many of those parents put screens in headreasts to keep little monsters quiet on long journies. I wouldn't exactly call any of them cab-drivers (well, Steve maybe ;) ) or pornowheelers (whatever a pornowheeler is!)

HTH :D

you don't have to have a big power system so that you can turn it up real, it means you can listen to it at sensible levels but be able to hear all of the music and not be stressing any part of the system. and using your logic why did you buy a 2.0 fabia, surely a 1.2 can break your speed limits?

Bengie.

to clarify ICE, I mean all that c@@@ that people fill their boots with. But hey each to their own. It's an alternative to lower suspension.

If you want to see some real crap cars, I propose we all go to Southend On Sea on a Friday or Saturday night. I used to live there and I regulary go back there to see friends, I managed to get myself stuck for an hour on the sea stuck amongst stupid chavs with Nova's in my retro Felicia.. Thing is Felicia is way quicker than their Nova's or 1.0 Saxos. Which makes it quite a laugh.
