What about them neon valves you can put on your wheels, truly comical, dodgy Fast and Furious graphics and chrome effect windscreen wipers!!! why why why

Money has got nothing to do with it. Without wanting to get into an arguement which i'd be a bit of a hypocrite to do' date=' i would disagree with you point about doing harm to your eyes - my eyes are quite offended by bright red interior lighting effects :D

...and secondly - you say you can't use a 5kW system inside a car because your ears would fall apart. If you use that argument then one could also say that by the same token you can't use neons when you are inside a car because you can't see them... ;)

Oh and lastly - i have many friends who have kids and many of those parents put screens in headreasts to keep little monsters quiet on long journies. I wouldn't exactly call any of them cab-drivers (well, Steve maybe ;) ) or pornowheelers (whatever a pornowheeler is!)

HTH :D[/quote']

First off...

The LEDs are not working full-power in the car, it is not bright at all. Don't be fooled by the photo, the timing and shutter speed of the camera enhanced the red glow effect in the picture. They are LEDs, not NEONS. Neons are completely different to LEDs.

Also, as far as neons and LEDs are concerned, they are not supposed to be seen, but FELT. You are supposed to only see the 'glow', not the light itself. The same applies with the music. It's supposed to be heard, and felt...it's not supposed to kill your hearing.

When I mentioned the screens, I should have also said that my comment was intended purely for young lads like ourselves. I find it absolutely ridiculous for someone for someone as young as 20 to dish out a good sum of money to install something in a car he will never have visual access to unless he let someone else drive.

Not only that, most of them allow the screen in front to play them DVDs they wanna play while the car is moving, which is a big-a** hazard on the road.

Oh...and about parents putting screens to their headrests for their kids...that's an excuse, not a reason when you think about it.

But again, to each his own :D

...and using your logic why did you buy a 2.0 fabia, surely a 1.2 can break your speed limits?

You have made absolutely no sense, and the comparison you just gave has no logic whatsoever and is very poor for argument's sake.

In an very tight and enclosed environment (like a car for instance), having and extremely powerful system with 4 woofers each driving 400W RMS plus component mid-range and tweeters driving another total of 1600W RMS will give you a MAX dBSPL level of 140dB SPL @ 1 meter's range. That is the threshold of pain, which means this is the sound pressure level at which the ears will physically start to hurt.

You think about it;)

You want to talk about the threshold of pain and ears physically starting to hurt? Beleive me you dont need 140db - just a standard Octy head unit/speakers and Colin's 'Best of Abba' CD - now THAT is experiencing pain way beyond what you may have experienced EVER before

How about the mods I've done here to enhance the looks of a comfort make it look more along the lines of the vRS which i couldn't afford to buy or insure....

Clicky

fabia, you said buying a big powerful systemis stupid because if you turn it up to full vole it could literally deafen you, all i said is whats the point in buying a 2.0 fabia instead of the 1.2 when using the 1.2 at full power you will be driving at dangerous and illegal speeds therefore negating the need for the extra power of the 2.0. it isn't a stupid worthless comparison, you think about it for a second.

all i'm saying is that you can have something as powerfull as you want as long as you use it responsibly, be that your car, your stereo anything. but as i said earlier i have a fairly powerfull system in my car to enhance the quality at sensible volumes and so that i am not pushing my system, so it lasts.

Also' date=' as far as neons and LEDs are concerned, they are not supposed to be seen, but FELT. [/quote']

Can I touch your bulbs?

It doesn't matter what sort of car it is: if I see any neons or LEDs on it, I immediately think 'attention-seeking chav'.

Harsh, but fair

You say the sweetest things :D

Sick of that annoying resonance from trim panels, why not forget the car altogether ?... :)

It's not the same thing dude. Dying in a car accident happens in a moment, it could happen in any time. A powerful system slowly deafens you, especially if you play it out extremely loud all the time. So it doesn't make a difference if I bought a 2 litre or a 1.2. Because I could still pass on in a fatal car accident in a 1.2...where as far as systems are concerned, I can still have a large system in the car and kill my ears softly.

But like I said bro...to each his own. This is my opinion. I wouldn't dish out a good thousand pounds worth to up my system to a ridiculous rate. All I did to my car was add two full-range 8" earthquakes in the back, and I've got decent, full sound. I personally don't feel the need to up it a bit more.

True...but then again I do like the attention, and I get it, and I always get compliments. And as far as I've heard, I am the only one in this country with green neon lights under the car. Second off, I use the exterior neons only on weekends.

And what the hell is a 'chav'? What kind of word is that?? I've just read up on it, it makes absolutely no sense and you seem to use it for everything...'Mom, get me a chav soup please?'

And as far as attention-seekers go, I'm not the only one...those with extreme and powerful systems seek attention too, whether they like to believe it or not.

Oooh! There's a photo? Can I see? .....

Check and enjoy :D

Quite like the footwell lighting. Nothing on Earth would make me want to make my car glow green underneath, however :D

:D

I think bonnet clips are just plain wrong along with static strips :thumbdwn:

What's with tread plate floor mats?

Mats are supposed to protect your shoes: not the other way around.

Um, since when were mats supposed to protect your shoes?? That's new, I know the mats as protection for the floor panel, not for the shoes.

And the metal plates are there so that 1)it looks good, and 2)it's easier to clean the mats since all the dirt will go on the plate.

Geez man, you're really up my ***. What's up with you?? Look, I don't dislike anybody in here and I don't wanna start in this forum. There's another forum I'm in that's like that, and I hardly go on because one way or another somebody is pickin' on me..thing is moderation ain't heavy on it so abuse is regular...

I don't wanna do that here, I like it here, it's a cool website. Stop being so god damn cold.

Peace.

Isn't it to stop your heel from scuffing the carpet up and wearing it out?

Rob.

That too. Thanks for pointing that out:)

Fabia 2.0RS,

Dont worry about people having a dig at your car, just ignore them, they obviously have no respect for other peoples taste's and feelings. The fact you take a lot of pride in your car speaks volumes to me.

Chav - Irritating, over used, tiresome word describing a particular type of person, how they act and what they do... Appears everyones branded a 'chav' these days for some reason or another so dont worry about that one

Cheers :)

has anyone else noticed the exhaust on the mondeo ST TDCI???

its got a big straight shiney outlet' date=' look closely and you'll see its a normal diesel exit that points down with a straight chrome bit welded on to 'look sporty'[/quote']

Just the same as the Fabia 'sport'.

Totally agree with everything you have said here.

ALL OF THEM......any modders reading this I have one thing to say T-W-A-T :finger:

EXCEPT maybe for those who own cars that ARE actually pretty fast. Here in Essex we tend to get the 1.1/1.2/1.4 corsa/fiesta/saxo brigade who mod thier cars up to look like they'd be able to compete with a McLaren F1, when in reality they can only manage 70 mph tops, down a hill........with a strong wind......THEY are really the people i refer to as T-W-A-T-S ;)
