  • Enjoyed today, will give myself a push to get on track next time. I should of hopefully managed to get a picture of everyone. First time shooting any moving vehicles so could do with some improvemen

  • Why do we all do these events ? For the most part it's the chance to get together with other like minded Skoda fans. And also the chance to explore the speed thrill and handling of your chosen ride. W

I received mine yesterday thanks :)

Got mine! Nice one.

Getting more anxious.....

It's all there for me. I'll it fill out in advance

Just got home after a few nights away to find an envelope in the letterbox-all there for me

many thanks

Weather predicition will probably change half a dozen times before the big day. :D

I'll have a look Friday night and decide what to take.

Another weekend like this one would be great!

I have to agree, weekend weather has been good, burnt my head yesterday building a shed and burnt it again today at Cadwell, I must buy a hat.

Don't buy one at Combe, a bit overpriced. I ended up having to buy one in Sept as it was so hot and i still got a bit burnt.

Buy one..... do you think I am made of money? I was thinking more on the lines of a knotted handkerchief :giggle:

Just got home and checked the post, thanks, Jason.

1 X Track pass

1 X Admission pass

1 X Red thingamebob to hang

1 X Bacon butty voucher

Got an OMP open face helmet for my birthday so have a spare full face XL helmet I can bring along to save someone the hire charge

^^ it is, you will spot me easily, I am the one with the carrot

Getting nearer now people - hopefully the weather will hold out

A word of warning for those on track - remember you cannot take Camp Corner flat out

Way to go Pasty, scare people before the session. :D

If you drive like a douche and on the first lap fly blindly into a corner at 100mph without braking because "a mate said it could be done flat out" you will crash.

People need to know ;)

At least leave those kind of things until the end of the session or we all lose out! :p

Camp Corner was the main corner I found hard to get right. Even though I knew it would be I didn't trust the track would be there the other side.

Quarry was the tricky one for me.

Problem is that if you carry too much speed deep into the corner, round the slight left hand bend, you go over a bump which makes the car feel quite light. It's not good for promoting confidence when leaving braking as late as possible.

The big barrier right in front of you doesn't help either. :D

Camp and Quarry are the to most tricky parts.

They do say that's where most incidents happen.

My mate who races the historics reckons camp can be done flat out.....but only after many years of practice.

I will not be trying to take it flat out!

It probably depends what you are driving.

I agree, he has a lotus 41, 1000cc ford lump that has cosworth treatment, three bearing crank, different pistons, dry liners and a dry sump too, gives a whopping 90bhp of a single carb if you're lucky, car weighs the same as a shoe, so it makes for some very interesting racing with your arse only 1" off the floor. Used to be F3 years ago or formula junior.

I wouldn't like to take camp flat in a Fabia.. or anything else for that matter.

Friend of mine marshalled a long time ago at Combe and asked him about Camp Corner. He said he'd seen Radical's flat there but even those were lifting at the end when tyres were wearing out.

I'll give it a miss then. :giggle:
