Chips round our way were 3d. just over 1p. When they went up to 4d there was a near riot. That was a saturday mornning polishing the brasses on neighbours windows

Whipping tops. Hoop and stick.

Coming up to date, pogo stick, hula hoop, roller skates with metal wheels.

When I started being a vehicle user, petrol was 4/3d, slightly over 21p.

Quantative easing, don't you just love it.

Or the pleasure of finding a stack of abandoned porn mags in the bushes at the park!

Classic. Funnily enough we were talking about this at work the other day.

They certainly were the good old days. Being the youngest of our group of mates i always got lumbered with "raven". Stiill good though and no racial slur intended.

Can anyone remeber being able to buy bangers and mini rockets from the newsagent?? Cracking times, you cant beat a full on mini rocket war on the golf course.

Come to think of it how did we actually survive our childhood?? The things we used to do would have parents locked up nowadays.

If i was a little bugger, and i was believe me, and got caught ringing doorbells and running away my dad would batter the **** out of me when i got presented home whilst being dragged home by the ear lug by the angry neighbour. Nowadays if you took a naught kid home the dad would more than likely batter you for inferring his little cherub was in any way at fault.

Bring back the olden days. But ill stick with the internet rather than mags in a bag.

Those polystyrene aircraft you got on school trips and built & wrecked on the bus home

they were great! Local newsagent, Dillon's sold 'em. I used to set alight to a wing once I got bored with them and pretend they'd been shot down
