right, how was your VRS to start this morning?

Featured Replies

As its a particlly cold morning this morning, im just curious really to see how other peoples VRS's start in this freezing weather

Mines took a good 4 times on the starter motor. Im not sure if this is due to something being wrong or something to do with the cold starts on the remap.

Let me know guys :)

Mine started first time no problems :)

Get your battery checked.

Also, make sure you're starting with the clutch down. Less for the starter motor to turn :)

Mine started absolutely fine as soon as the glow plug light had gone out.

Temp says -1 started no problem at all, same as if it was a hot sunny day!

Glow plug light was on for a little longer.

Glow light took a few more secs to go out, other than that started first time easy.

First time s always.

If you are waiting till the glow plug light goes out before trying to start it then the glow plugs may need changing.

started fine, but mine we have come across that when you start it, my alternator kicks out 10, then as soon as you give it a blip of revs it goes to 14 as it should. the alternator has been replaced with a brand new unit... any idea's??? saves me started a new thread.

First time I've needed the ice scraper this year and it started first time, almost immediately, even though I forgot to wait for the glowplug light to extinguish!

i always wait for glow plug light as i wait for my dials to go up then back down and that takes a good 6 seconds

could it be anything to do with the cold start function on the remap?

Do you leave the ignition on until the coil light goes on, had to do this in the punto.

Mine also took a couple of seconds but im sure my battery is dieing, still started though :)

Yes pal, as explained it takes 6-7 seconds for my gauges to go up and down and i always wait for that to happen. Glow plug light doesnt ever take no way near that long

Glow plug stayed on longer, started straight up after that.

Mine was the same - replaced the battery, problem sorted

Started no problem! Battery seems to be on its last legs though.

Mine started no problem, I park front end against the garage door which I find helps. Was an indicated 1.5 Celsius on the dash :dull:

It was -2.0c here this morning and the car started on the first few turns. :)

was -1 here at 6 this morning, plug light flickered on and started first time. No trouble at all

At mine car indercated -1.5 didn't even let plug warm started straight up

Mine starts when cold but seems bait lumpy/rough for a few seconds

also a nice cloud of smoke :p

yup me too

mine's started first turn of the key this morning at 6am. The glow plug light wasn't on any longer than usual, which is just a flicker, and the temp gauge was showing -4.5 degrees
