New updates for Fabia 2013 Mk2

Featured Replies

Going with the times would have you sticking with the badges that came with the car in the day.

So 2010, 11, early 12 would be the round green ones that say 'Skoda'.

So if your cars had Green Badges and you think Black without 'Skoda' on them is somehow hip,

then so be it.

Many people still know it is a Skoda, and only a few think it is a Vauxhall.

F A B I A  Lettering on boots is just a PITA as far as i am concerned when polishing the car.

When i fit new Round badges on an older Skoda i just stick with ones that suit the period of the car,

If you're that bothered then swap them over or remove the lettering, by all accounts it's easily done, I've not done it myself as I don't care one way or the other what badges are on or what the font is like.

God help Skoda if they dare do something different on the MK 3, you never know, they might take a leaf out of Audi and BMWs book and offer a de badge option for the snobby ones.

Dirty Exhausts pipes are there to make them look like a Dirty Diesel car..

+1 for losing the Skoda badge. The little nobble on top of the S catches on everything!

I think I will unfollow now...

I am sure that this has been covered repeatedly elsewhere on this forum but to save my searching for one of the examples, can you please describe how you removed the Skoda, Fabia & vRS badges without damaging the paintwork?  Have you also removed the vRS badge from the radiator grille?

Thanks :)

Remove the Front Badge with care, you need to break/cut the Glue, and tidy or cover the plastic where it was attached.

Careful use of a Craft knife, and some fine sand paper can be good.

(some put some other badge on, I think i will put on a 'Greenline' badge.)

Rear Badges,

use a Hair Dryer to heat it up, or park directly in the sun if warm.

Remove with Fishing Gut, Strong Nylon Thread or such used like you would use Dental Floss,

to not damage the paint,

Then use Glue/Stain remover or even the likes of WD40/GT 85 to remove glue.

(I personally have used Cellulose Paint Thinners or Nail Polish remover, but that gets me flamed.

& if smoking at the time, i might be in flames.)

Gunk engine degreaser works too (after you've sawed the letters off with dental floss or whatever) Just dab some on a cloth and hold it up to the remaining sticky bits on the paint. Wait a couple of minutes and they'll peel right off.

Very strange why buy a skoda then if you ashamed of the badge, having skoda on my new fabia im very proud of it in fact they can put skoda all around the cars and they are still better than even a bmw.

Never said I was ashamed, had two generations of vrs and proud of it. Just like a nice simple clean back end to a car.

If anything, the previous green badge was more of a case of 'proud to be Skoda' as more recognisable. I have it and am very happy with it.

Others seem to be de-badging too so am happy that I am not alone...

As far as BMW,.....we are all entitled to our own opinions.....

Agree with the comment above.. I personally think to much writing/badges makes the boot lid look too busy. I removed the Fabia letters, to improve the boot lid appearance and make polishing easier.

Badges just gather dirt.
