How Fast are Briskoda #3 - 1st June

Featured Replies

Good to know. Some of them are a bit precious about it, especially if they run some sort of a service when photos and footage can be bought from them i.e. they are protecting thier revenue stream, which is perfectly understandable.

  • Right, after my annoyance at the organisers' letting us out at Combe, and wishing to at least have a truly 100% brisky session along with a smidge of tracktime desire, I'm up for this. Won't be a work

  • We've had the practice times, we've had the hot lap times, now we have possibly the most important table of all (for obvious reasons), the improvement between practice and hot lap times 01. +5.317 -

  • I need something to cheer me up Just to bring this to the front as it's several pages back... 1. BossFox - Booked In 2. CRAIGROBBO - Booked In 3. PastyBoy - Booked In 4. M12MKD - Booked In 5.

You can always ask them on the day, but last time there was no MSV photographer. Just us.

I only remember it being us and two guys kind of doing the admin. Were there actually any marshalls? I guess with the type of circuit it is, you can see the whole track from one point really.

No, fuel in the tank.

You won't do more than 30 minutes plus two hot laps.

That's about a third of a tank in a petrol VRS, half tops if you hoon it the whole time.

So go in nearly full.

Well I should get more than 30 mins in as having a 20 min coaching session. :bandit: :bandit: :bandit:

There was a vehicle about half way round the circuit, Jase

I was probably the only one going slow enough to spot it :)

I will have my Video Vbox logger, but I also have been know to have a camera or two...

So on the day I'll have maybe three or four cameras spare if people want to video their laps and don't have one.

Can i pintch one again Richard?

If i can get it to work this time :-/

Many thanks,

Ilmor

How much do they charge for the pleasure?

I'll do it for free, but I'm rubbish! :D

Iam sure I'd love to hitch a ride with you when my one is cooling down to experiece passanger's view of the track. On the second thought not sure if my urge to drive will allow me to stop  .

Just got the two camera suction mounts, they cups are huuuge - I cannot see them coming off by themselves really!.

Also, ELM327 WiFi dongle arrived. Tested it with DashCommand and it worked fine showing some crazy spark advances while stationery and blipping the throttle. I need to figure out hot to set up the fastet possible PID polling speed.

Tomorrow will be the first day of engine logging. I will try doing it from the phone and laptop at the same time as ScanXL Professional seem to have more fetures. There are even dedicated Skoda Dash skins, one for S2000 with shift light (will be very handy on track in manual mde!) and one for secifically for Fabia :).

I love playing with data and can't wait for the first crop to analyse ! I know, it's sad

The idea of the warm-up is to do a bit of driving, and a bit of observing. Ideally I want to be driving with a passenger and vice versa for the whole duration, swapping here and there. My car never likes more than about 12 minutes or so out on track anyway.

Can't believe how seriously some people are taking this, they'll be bringing pit crews next :(

When I finally get my charge conditioning unit sorted you will be the first to have it for testing - no more cooling down periods provided yoi have oil cooler installed.

I think I am getting excited about this track day  . I just cannot help I love those things

I bet plenty of people will be very surprised by the way I drive during the warmup ;) It seems to me that there's a perception that this track day is the most important thing in my life lol. Geting excited about it and making it importnt are two different things

Should I cancel the grid girl to stand at the front with a chequered flag? :Dj

I'm bringing my trackday wheels as I will be using them on the Monday trackday at Castle Combe and not heading back to Devon after How fast? If its bone dry, I will be swapping. ;)

What about the brakes and tyres? :)

I think Jason has it sorted already :)

Wheels I can understand, as there's a need to drive there, but all this telemetry shoite

It used to be a bit of fun, but I think some might get carried away this time

Come on rain! :D

Just one?!? I thought you had the whole shebang sorted, at least three long legged grid girls for the podium celebrations Moet bubbly, trophies and some post Time Attack press conference - you got that televising rights contract sorted with Sky, don't you?

If you ask me nicely I can wave a chequered flag for you :drunk:

£25 for 20 min session. need to book minimum of a week before event.

I think just to up the ante a little bit I will rent full car logging and telemetry kit with pro engineer in the pits radioing me where to improve my braking points, racing lines and steering lock angles. Oh, did I mention I will be driving in full FIA approved Nomex racing suite? That includes fireproof base layers with integreal cooling system, nomex racing socks and boots and F1 racing gloves. Those things gotta be done right!

That is a really good price! I will think about it closer to the day.

Come on rain! :D

Did I mention I taught certain Michael S his wet race craft? :nerd:

It is worth it I think - never had it from a professional but I had an experienced Castle Combe tracker as a passenger in the Spring session, and the new lines taught were awesome.

I'm ready...
