  • Right, after my annoyance at the organisers' letting us out at Combe, and wishing to at least have a truly 100% brisky session along with a smidge of tracktime desire, I'm up for this. Won't be a work

  • We've had the practice times, we've had the hot lap times, now we have possibly the most important table of all (for obvious reasons), the improvement between practice and hot lap times 01. +5.317 -

  • I need something to cheer me up Just to bring this to the front as it's several pages back... 1. BossFox - Booked In 2. CRAIGROBBO - Booked In 3. PastyBoy - Booked In 4. M12MKD - Booked In 5.

richard's telemetry from his Yeti on this video

says a max of just under 90....

147mph. Do you want the decimal places too? :giggle:

Thanks Pasty...

As I said, I never even got brake fade in the Yeti on stock pads, discs and fluid.

It's not LeMans, just turn up and have a bit of fun!

Some say he was the fastest Skoda last year, despite driving a diesel SUV.

And that he practised in the earlier event by going sideways everywhere.

All we know is, he drives a red Yeti.

I do like a bit of body roll...

Just a question, but thanks for answering anyway.

My video - top speed was not great, but it was damp and I was taking no chances (despite outbraking myself at one corner....) I don't think I got much over 80mph to be honest.

Wet is a different ball game, great hardware equaliser! I could see how easy you were taking it after you outbraked yourself. Then you stepped on it all over again

My quickest lap at Bedford........still slow, but hey, I'm old :)

3 spaces left people lets get them filled!

Can a very good friend of mine join in in his Nissan 370Z convertible? He's done track days before, not a spring chicken (cool head) and loves track driving. Let me know so I could call Bedford and pay for it.

I'll give them a ring on Monday Tuesday. The Briskoda Castle Combe track session left me wanting a bit more...

Come to think of it, this is just like F1 except there's no race at the end. We get 1h of free practice then two qualifying / flying laps, and then the pub instead of the actual race

For those who have done it before, during the free practice, is it just us / those who've booked our session of max 20 or are there others we have to share the track with?

As far as I know it's only us. Also, not all 18 are at the track at the same time as you need cool down time .

Having been twice, it is just those who are booked on the session, no interlopers come in at any stage

And unless you're driving Miss Daisy, there's no way you'll be able to do an hour solid practice, probably only half, if that - last time I went the tyres were getting very soft after 4 or 5 laps, brakes were heating up etc

The timed laps are great as only 3 cars go out at a time, spaced round the tack, so you don't have traffic to think about - it's amazing how much quicker you go compared to practice

Bugger, I want to go now :(

Only the 18 cars booked in for our session.

An hour of free practice where cars come and go so quite often only 9 or 10 on the whole track.

I know after 3 or 4 laps I had to let the oil in the Yeti cool down as I was err... giving it some.

Final hot laps are alone with two cars spaced out half a lap apart.

Book it Brimma, you know you want to, it is a Saturday too so it should fit in with your other things.

It is only us, and its a good chance to get passenger laps with others whilst your car is cooling down a bit, and then reciprocate later. Good social thing the free practise

can't wait!

Is anybody staying at a Premier Inn the night before? If so, which one?

As it's 10am and there is no queue I am driving up that morning.

I am going to try and book in with relations in south leicestershire the night before.

Me and my dad are booked in @ the Queens Head in Milton Ernest, Around 2.5 miles from the track!... and was only £50 inc breakfast for the both of us.

Any places left?

There should be at least one. PastyBoy went AWOL and we are a bit leaderless at the moment :). I hope he resurfaces some time today to take the rudder again.

You don't need to wait for Pasty, phone the number and ask MSV.
