How my impeller ended the day

No wonder it the car had no boost!!!

Clearly not an oil seal as we first though but probably the result of me overworking an already elderly infirm turbo by planting the throttle to try and pull myself out of the impending spin.

Next time I'll just surrender and pirouette with grace

I think it did well anyway considering the mileage and what you put it through along the way . Looks like shaft snapped ?

On the bright side a new one will go in and you will be able to step on the loud pedal to your heart's content.

Good to see all those small bits are still in the turbo housing and that they haven't been munched through the system! Get it mended Pasty, ready for the next event...

Really struggled on this "How Fast" (racing excuses here they come). I just could not hook up any of the corners, missed braking points by braking way too early or too late. Look at my last times I was 2 seconds slower :(

But you know I could not give a monkey's if I was slower than the SDi, I totally enjoyed it and had a good laugh.

I some how think that after 3 How fasts and 6 CC's my brakes have finally said "I've had enough"! Though they will probably still be on the car come CC in september.

Pastyboy, are we doing this again this year?  I notice this thread opened on 7th January 2013, so we are a week late for the 2014 Briskoda How Fast #4 booking in thread.

I'm definitely up for this again. A few more tweaks on the car, more power, more braking and the benefit of seeing the videos of the people who have "optimised" the line. Lol

Don't rush Pasty, I have just checked MSV but dates only go as far as February at the minute!  I was a bit eager to go again as last year was really good.

 

 Maybe Jabozuma will also make an appearance as he disappeared last year after buying some track wheels and changing his brake fluid. Anybody seen Jabo???

MSV will be able to advise Pasty a date when they know.

It'll be before the date is put on the MSV site as we usually get a few months to get people on before it's open to the public.

Last year we had the Brisk Rover and a Datsun, so I assume I can fetch the Golf this time? 

 

 Won't be anywhere near as quick as last year in the Fabia because the Golf is a big heavy pig!

But passengers get in free and can watch from the pits.

So hop in someones car when people leave the car park after the briefing to head up to the track.

As said above I have spoken to MSV but as yet they have only up to mid-March on their books so we can't yet reserve ourselves the session.

Car wise it'd be lovely to keep it as Skoda only but I can't see a problem with regulars who have moved on to other marques attending.

We'll see how it goes
