  • Right, after my annoyance at the organisers' letting us out at Combe, and wishing to at least have a truly 100% brisky session along with a smidge of tracktime desire, I'm up for this. Won't be a work

  • We've had the practice times, we've had the hot lap times, now we have possibly the most important table of all (for obvious reasons), the improvement between practice and hot lap times 01. +5.317 -

  • I need something to cheer me up Just to bring this to the front as it's several pages back... 1. BossFox - Booked In 2. CRAIGROBBO - Booked In 3. PastyBoy - Booked In 4. M12MKD - Booked In 5.

17th with a best lap of 1:41.978 But a fatigued turbo was probably the cause of that ;) Hope it's sorted soon fella

I'll post the results up shortly. Just scanning them in now.

If anyone objects, let me know and I'll take it down :)

Great day once again!

Thanks again for organising the day Mr Pasty, felt for you and your evil turbo.

Just out of interest no one spotted a locking wheel nut anywhere? Mine decided to part company with the wheel!

Crack on, I don't mind being near the bottom :) was just pleased to have improved my time by a second from practice to timed lap :)

Can you bump me up a few spaces please XAV?

Well Home Safe and sound, Brakes got better on way home, but maybe wasnt great idea to put new pads and discs on before. :giggle:

Big thank you to Mr Pasty for sorting the day out, had an absolute blast. Sorry about your turbo mate, that sucks. Fair Play James for letting him have a few laps in your motor

Learnt a lot about my car and my driving today with the driver instruction. very very good. he pushed me and the car very hard. but worth it with the result i'd say :sun:

Don't worry, I wouldn't trust the timing for accuracy - I mean just look at the date :p

Here you go, Joe:

I took the liberty of doing the same, hope you don't mind ;)

Finally home after our detour to Luton to collect transplant parts for the Lupo.

I have to say Liam and myself had a great day, really good to meet some of you for the first time and some of you again.

All my concerns about the part worn Avon tyres was proved to be just me worrying, they got leathered today and looking at them now I reckon there would another session or two in them

Cliff, your 17th place shows you were showing my car sympathy and I am sure you could have done better, hope you get the turbo sorted and thanks for organising the event.

Video from in car to follow with Craigs 20V breathing Fire

Hi All,

Top day very pleased I decided to make the journey, was 580+ miles in total!

Thanks to Pasty Boy for sorting this out! And bummer about the turbo letting go pal!.

Made it back in one piece just! I think both front wheel bearings have gave up the ghost as all the way home we were deffend by a deep rumbling noise!..

I was very impressed with everyone! And couldn't believe how fast some of the Fabia's were! This was my first track day and pleased it was with you guys as a normal day would have been really intimidating for a novice I rekon.

I think I took Dave by surprise spinning the car right in front of him at about 65mph ha ha!

James I hope I didn't burn your front bumper with flames ha ha! Look forward to seeing the vid pal!

Cheers Craig

So, who was fastest?

I was kind of expecting something Mate, just not there, you were breaking loose at west 9 in front of me, i was more worried at to which way you were going to go..... then i was going to make my bed and lie in it so to speak.

for vRSy, you will see an Audi TT RS was quick, of course Jason was quick and a Nissan 370Z was also Quick, Richard had a moment after upsetting the balance of the Yeti after removing the rear seats so would have been higher up the table I am sure, not a huge difference between us all.

when do they update the site out of curiousity?

Home now and just been watching all my video footage, managed to catch a couple of "moments" on camera :giggle:

I had a fantastic time getting everything I could out of the little Rover and very pleased to pedal it to a respectable 9th place. That's the first time I've taken the car on a circuit and given it it a proper blast like that. It hangs on so well through the corners, just lacks that bit of oomph to drag itself up the straights with only 112bhp. That problem will be sorted however, at christmas time when I'm gonna drop an 1800cc VVC lump in taking it to 160bhp

So next time it'll be an even Brisker Rover

Removing the interlopers from the Brisky session leaves us here:

1. Jason (devonutopia) - 1:29.889 - (mk1 Fabia)

2. Dave (Dave And Lolli) - 1:34.160 - (Mk1 Octy Estate)

3. Jamie (James I) - 1:35.322 - (mk2 Fabia VRS)

4. Peter (Jabozuma) - 1:35.691 - (mk2 Fabia VRS)

5. Richard (BossFox) - 1:35.742 - (Yeti 4x4)

6. Peter (Skud vrs) - 1:35.898 - (mk1 Octy VRS)

7. Haydn (niceyellow vrs) - 1:38.219 - (Rover)

8. Xavier (Xavier) - 1:38.647 - (mk1 Fabia VRS)

9. Joe (vRS Joe) - 1:38.777 - (mk1 Fabia VRS)

10. Andy (ilmor) - 1:38.924 - (mk1 Fabia VRS)

11. Craig (GRAIGROBBO) - 1:39.042 - (mk1 Octy Estate 4x4)

12. David (Sharkrider) - 1:39.834 - (mk2 Fabia VRS Estate)

13. Michael (M12MKD) - 1:40.616 - (mk2 Octy VRS Estate)

14. Bryan (Brimma) - 1:40.715 - (mk2 Octy VRS Estate)

15. Cliff (pastyboy) - 1:41.978 - (mk2 Fabia VRS, a car he'd never driven before!)

16. William (ickleginge) - 1:53.136 - (mk1 Fabia SDI)

Have to say it was yet another great Briskoda day out.

Yeti performed beyond it's design spec yet again and having bagged a decent first hot lap I went for broke second time round, only to have a bit of a moment on the last corner after a clear lap. Damn! :D

Them's the breaks as they say.

Still the fastest time I've ever posted in practice and timed laps in the Yeti so happy with the result.

Quite close, four of us in the 1:35 range.

Did my bit to prove how capable a beast it is, despite being told by MSV it's the quietest vehicle they've ever tested at the sound check. :giggle:

Great to meet everyone today and was also nice to pop down the road for lunch afterwards with those that came, gave us much more chance to chat than at the circuit.

Hopefully I can make the next one chaps and sorry to have missed this again. Sounds like you had a cracking day!

James I in action.

Sorry for the body roll on the camera car! :D

My hot laps.

Glad I did this, handwork while driving is appauling compared to my Nissan vids. Must be too relaxing!

Something to work on in future...

Moment near the end was going OK (well, I knew where I was going) until the ESP decided it was going to save me and started braking various wheels which made it swing about!

One Yeti, one owner from new.

Any takers? :bandit:

Again no problem at all in the organising.

I like the days that bring people together and include some mentalist driving too ;)

James thanks again for the faith. I was indeed struggling with DSG as well as battling a car I'd never driven and the fear of the fact it was someone else's, so 1:41 is ok.

I actually did a 1:39.9 in the 1 clear lap that I did in my own car with the half a dozen beforehand being in traffic and the 1 after containing the turbo killing spin. Disappointed but still up for organising another.

We did try an October one last year only had 3 attendees (and I wasn't one of them) but if we can get the turn out we can do another later in the year.
