  • Right, after my annoyance at the organisers' letting us out at Combe, and wishing to at least have a truly 100% brisky session along with a smidge of tracktime desire, I'm up for this. Won't be a work

  • We've had the practice times, we've had the hot lap times, now we have possibly the most important table of all (for obvious reasons), the improvement between practice and hot lap times 01. +5.317 -

  • I need something to cheer me up Just to bring this to the front as it's several pages back... 1. BossFox - Booked In 2. CRAIGROBBO - Booked In 3. PastyBoy - Booked In 4. M12MKD - Booked In 5.

I'm afraid I too have to confess to a contracting a bad bout of Jabo-Fever.

Rear seats = gone

Parcel shelf = gone

Crap from the door pockets = gone

I too even put on my track wheels

IMAG0261_zps68f96f6a.jpg

However one of the part worns was at a frankly worrying 8psi.

I managed to limp to tesco and reinflate it and am putting it down to having remained untouched in the garage for 6 months; but have a nagging feeling I'll be putting at least two golden wonders back on at 7am.

Also not sure if its a symptom of the Jabo-fever, the fact that some of the tyres now on the car are pushing 7 years old, or the fact I over inflated them a bit but the car felt awful on the track wheels....

I too have a Jack, torque wrench, two spare wheels and some oil (only for MK ii vRS owners) in the boot.

I have Octy VRS Oil, covered. lol

I have topped up today, so I should be good for the run down at least lol :bandit: don't mention oil. sorry.

Brisk Rover all good to go. Fresh oil and spark plugs and some nice Polish chaps even tried to wash it for me :-)

Pasty my tyres are vintage too, we will be fine :whew:

Whilst having a look at my brakes and removing the wheels, mine have small cracks in the tread :o Must be like those blisters F1 drivers complain about!

Not sure if this is a sign to tell me to take it easy but took the Octavia out for a run and to get fuel. Brakes very spongey and there appears to be liquid from the top left hand corner of the rad (I'm guessing the one in the front is related to the aircon?).

Ahhh I'm sure it will be fine!

Would someone have a windscreen suction-mount camera holder (with normal camera 1/4" thread) I can borrow?

I'll have my camera, but only a head-band support for it LOL. Again, people welcome to borrow it during their sessions and grab the videos off the micro-SD card at the end.

MSV Registration Form point 6:

Any in-car camera equipment is safely and securely attached, using bolt on mounting systems specifically designed for that purpose. (not suction or other temporary mountings)

In practice GoPros (big 3m tape foot, as are things like Blackvues) are acceptable but at all MSV events (and other track days) they are anti-suction mounts.

In an incident they tend to come off and hit the driver.

Nice to see everyone getting ready.

I've spent the evening running round the garden and washing a yellow plastic tractor with my son.

Just got to throw my track bag in the Yeti tomorrow morning and I'm done.

Jabo Fever is not that contagious :).

I gave up on camcorders for Bedford. Not able to mount in vibration free way despite spending good few hours trying to sort it out. Sod it, who will watch anyways lol.

Car has nicely bled brakes and it made a lot of difference, feels like I've joined the Big Brake Brigade ;). She stops in noticeably shorter distance on the same road from the same speed-good to have the rears air free and working finally :D.

Car is fuelled and washed. Couldn't be ar$ed with waxing. The wheels while off got deep clean and HD Wax inside and out-this ate away most of the day.

Also got a sun stroke in the process...

If still able I will do some stickers. Or perhaps just go to bed early?

Really glad I did the fluid change, if only To get the air out of the lines it was worth it!

I am starting to get excited :D

My cars not been started for 10days, I looked at it about an hour ago cobwebs on wing mirrors and in wheel arches. Should be ok.

I enjoyed that :D

Was a great day gents!

Many thanks to pasty for organising it :) shame his turbo went pop :-/

Ilmor

That was great, apart from my chocolate Tyres ;) saved two vids that I will post up later in the week :)

Another top day was had despite doing less than 10 laps and being a fatal casualty.

If are going to finish off your turbo what better way than with a massive tank slapped and spin whilst on track eh?!

My pictures and a full debrief of my day to follow but a massive thank you to James I and his bonkers generosity to let me do some timed laps in his car. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

Look forward seeing where I finished :D

Finally killed the red one then Cliff?

It's definitely seriously wounded

Sorry to hear that Pasty. :(

Got home, brakes OK despite doing its utmost at producing a viable smoke screen at first pit stop and I am massively crashing from adrenaline high. I will post some pictures later when I think straight. It was a great way to spend my birthday and it was a pleasure to meet you all in person:)

When is the next one? ;)

Sorry to hear your turbo went mate!

Just back. Great fun, great day.

If Jason hadn't reserved my turbo, I would have let you have it, Cliff. Hope it gets sorted out soon.

I'll post my very average video sometime soon. I reckon my brakes were OK, but fluid was too old / needs replacing. Tyres weren't the best either... Oh well, one way to finish them off to soon get something better :)

I also enjoyed that, maybe a bit too much!

I'll post the vid of me spinning past the pits if its any good.
