  • Right, after my annoyance at the organisers' letting us out at Combe, and wishing to at least have a truly 100% brisky session along with a smidge of tracktime desire, I'm up for this. Won't be a work

  • We've had the practice times, we've had the hot lap times, now we have possibly the most important table of all (for obvious reasons), the improvement between practice and hot lap times 01. +5.317 -

  • I need something to cheer me up Just to bring this to the front as it's several pages back... 1. BossFox - Booked In 2. CRAIGROBBO - Booked In 3. PastyBoy - Booked In 4. M12MKD - Booked In 5.

For reference though the fastest lap ever is a 1:08

Fastest Skoda is BossFox in his Yeti in a 1:36

You found the leaderboard once - i'm sure you can find it again and pick out any car/figure you want :)

Hang on a minute, you telling me the quickest Skoda around 'How Fast' is a Yeti?

Indeed it is Bernie.

Richard was by far the fastest when Event #2 was held with just 3 attendees in the dry.

The damp event one was topped by a standard mk2 Fabia VRS.

Although largely because Richard's mk1 VRS SE rocketship had tyres which hated the wet and Harry had too much power for the greasy conditions!

You'd better believe it! :D

I even pipped the EVO road tester in the mkII Fabia vRS by one hundreth of a second.

(and he was actually doing it in the dry!)

its not all about the car its about the driver and how well that one flying lap goes

put me in a 500bhp all singing all dancing car and im sure richard will still beat me lol

Ive seen guys in small cars smashing guys in big powered cars for fun !!!

I think that was almost a compliment, thanks Clive. :)

Of course you are correct.

I have to say the Yeti had nothing left to give really, I drove the wheels off it on the flying laps.

My best practice lap by comparison was over a second slower, where I could only do three or four laps at a time anyway because I was concerned about oil temps. I'd let it rest, do a few laps and come in again.

Driving a slower car fast is much easier than driving a fast car fast.

Because you have so much more time to get everything precise and you can feel when it's right on the limit easier, it doesn't bite your head off if you go just beyond the limit of grip.

No, he had a car sending lots of power to the wrong end... in the wet.

Yeti Rules! :D

Hopefully Luke might sort that out for me :)

Looks like we need Harry back for round 3... :sun:

I'll look into it ;)

I can only bow to your talent, well done, probably surprised the MSV staff as well

Who me?

It was the rain keeping the seriously modded cars at bay. :)

Rich out of interest how did you fair overall at Event #2?

Did you and your Yeti claim the scalps of any of the members of the unsuspecting general public in more sporting machinery?

On the second event all 3 skodas was at the bottom, Richard being the first. Closest timed lap was a civic which was about a 10th quicker than Richard was.

Exactly, I was about a tenth behind a Civic Type R and a few tenth more off a little Peugoet track car.

Because we had a fair number show interest and not follow up and pay it got opened up... So in our group were about four Radical track cars, a Lotus Exige, Caterham and an Ariel Atom. Not mentioning the Dax Rush that won by a fair margin, setting one of the fastest times of the year in the process.

You could say the competition was a bit much for the Yeti...

Hopefully we'll not get let down this time and have a good number of Briskoda members there like event 1.

If it is raining I might take the Yeti instead, as it is a lease car I am sure it will perform better than anything I have ever driven!

I hope everybody that has shown interest gets booked in. Make the call guys.

Richard will have a weight penalty as he won last year. ;)

Richard, the radicals were very fast indeed, to be fair most apart from us were track day cars anyway.

Really looking forward to this one, hoping to have a few changes to the combi before then.

Seriously I need to get the vRS back on the road...so here's my motivation, either that or I'll be fighting it out for the captain slow crown in the SDI. Be afraid! :D

Whats the charge for passangers ? Or watchers ?

Whats the charge for passangers ? Or watchers ?

£10 i think because of insurance purposes

the only real "spectator area" is the pits though meaning all you can really see is the last 90 degree right the pit straight and the first hair pin

you'd be better of adding an extra £80 to take part Lloyd ;)

I was just going to come up to keep dave company

Is there no passengers on this either then

During the practice maybe... but the hot laps I doubt anyone would want the extra ballast. :)

Sounds like repeating myself, but you have a nice car with a fair bit of power.

Why not use it and see what it can actually do?

I've been looking into trackdays recently and have found Rockingham (my closest circuit) do taster sessions for £30. However this sounds like a much more exciting prospect, better value for money too!
