  • Just give it a break. Pretty much every single thread in this forum is full of your posts saying the same thing over and over. Nobody cares any more.

  • To be honest what I expect is not to have to read the same complaints and knocking down of the car on EVERY thread started about it. Your point has been made time and again, and again, and again.

  • As I read through all manner of threads on here I know you have a chip on your shoulder the size of a VW engine production line about the performance, fuel efficiency and tank capacity of VAG cars. I

almost identical report to the auto car one

What a load of tosh about 1.6CRs great performance, I have this very engine in the 2012 Roomster, it is barely adequate and uses a ton of fuel , 10% more than Mk1 Octy 1.9 did in same driving (and it was a 200kg heavier car)

Keep in mind Roomster is 50kg+ lighter car than Mk3 Octy. Plus my 1.6CR's DPF broke down after just 6 months/6k miles.

I'd have paid extra 30% new Roomie price to get 1.9 instead, too bad they stopped selling those.

DieselV6,

You have made the same point in almost every other thread on the New Octavia and at this stage I think we all know your feelings on the matter, there is no need to bring them up again and again.

We have all seen by now that you are clearly not happy with aspects of the new car and with VAG, but please do not go on about it and drag down every thread.

Maybe start your own thread on the subject, and let those interested comment in there?

I did a long while ago, it's in Roomster forum.

Last time I checked, it was Skoda car users forum, I can see no better place to straighten up Algarve-written car reviews that blatantly lie. Even the diehard VW DPF CR engine fans eagerly admit that the 2.0CR is much better than the 1.6CR.

What did you expect, a series of posts praising the new car so that an unsuspecting prospective buyer can browse the forum and run to the dealership to order one?

The new Octy has longer wheelbase and thus more legroom in the cabin, the 184bhp 2.0CR engine that is to go into vRS is a plus, and for those who like gadgets there's pleanty of them. These are the good points over Mk2 Octy.

The downgraded rear suspension on most diesels, the disappointing 1.6CR, shrunk fuel tank and missing spare are the bad points.

Without driving the new car and seeing it in the flesh I dont really know what I think. I will say my current 55 plate mark 2 has performed fantastically. Now has 90k on the clock, and with the engine being a 2.0 PD when driven normally gets between 55-60mpg. So its relaible comfortable and cheap to run, hence will not be changing it unless for a new current Mark 2 model

To be honest what I expect is not to have to read the same complaints and knocking down of the car on EVERY thread started about it. Your point has been made time and again, and again, and again.

Actually, the main point I made here was about the engine and the reviewer not being quite honest, 1/3rd of this particular review is saying how suffcient 1.6CR is, when it clearly is not adequate even for a car 50kg lighter. And I mean mixed use in the UK, not some high speed driving antics. If you read the other thread you'd have noticed a lot more focus on downsized fuel tank, missing full sized spare and downgraded suspension when compared to Mk2 Octy.

When there appears a VW Common Rail diesel engine that can match PD engines fuel economy under real life mixed driving conditions in the UK (not at 25degC on a rolling road as it happens to be tested), I'll be more than happy to praise it with equal zeal.

Meanwhile, back on topic...is that car race blue ? Are they not reserving that for the vRS anymore ?

Especially the Fiat owners do not care any more. You're quite happy being lied to in car reviews and then spending money on cars that do not deliver.

So if it is a LIE I presume you have taken the matter up with the Press Complaints Authority, and written to the Editor of the relevant journal?

No, of course you haven't!

So, to put it bluntly..........shut up!!! You are getting exceedingly boring!!

Yes, keep discussing the colour instead, if that's all you are able to.

Last time I checked, this forum was for knowledgeable Skoda car users too, not just exclusively people who just want to wind up other people, or have nothing to say other than their favourite car colour.

So have you complained to the PCA or the Editor of the publication?

As I read through all manner of threads on here I know you have a chip on your shoulder the size of a VW engine production line about the performance, fuel efficiency and tank capacity of VAG cars. I have read only one post where you weren't highlighting the poor design, instead you were criticising the dealers performance instead.

I could take your posts and swap them randomly between threads and it wouldn't make any difference to how the threads read.

I have yet to see make a positive contribution to this forum, instead you just repeat the same vitriol in response to any questions or comments.

Good luck succeeding with press complaints, I will much rather discuss it on the forum, send a letter to Skoda Auto (Czech Republic, not UK) on their Roomster's build quality and engine performance (and yes I got a reply, and after some clarification my list of build issues and process failures did go to Kvasiny where Roomsters are built).

You might notice that I discussed this engine in another thread. Here I merely stated that the reviewer is economical with the truth about the 1.6CR engine in Octavia sized car and did not bother to look into its reliability, especially the DPF component failure rate.

Good review for SUK, bad review for customers of SUK.

Are you for real? Do a search for my posts, I helped a lot of people, several this week alone. so much for positive contribution (and your appreciation of it). Also, if you look at my posts in the Superb Mk1 forum, you'll see almost constant praise for that car, despite quite a few people talking down the 2.5TDI engine.

So your reply to me proves that actually you are all words and no action, and you haven't actually complained about what you called LIES (post #11).

Give it a rest!!

As this is the internet you can never be sure.

My previous post (and this one) was somewhat limited by the fact I am doing this from my phone. Over the last couple of weeks from dipping in and out of numerous threads, I have the impression that you are not a happy camper with regards to the above issues and you seem interested solely in expounding your beliefs and point of of view in a hostile and vitriolic manner.

This impression is my own and based on a data set which would in all likelihood not stand up to statistical scrutiny but certainly you seem to be presenting a consistent impression to site users and I suspect they wouldn't look to your previous posts for useful information.

I don't know you from Adam and have no idea what you are like as a person in real life but my impression from your recent posts is such that I wouldn't be seeking your advice for about a potential purchase.

Are you trying to say I helped no fewer than 10 imaginary people this week and got a thank you post each time from myself? (Trundle)nuts indeed.

Go to a real PC, put dieselv6 in author search box, and widen your limited view. You seem to be full of adjectives just because someone posts true information that is not to your liking for whatever reason, and stands by it in the face of off-topic personal remarks and pure BS at times (see the technical thread).

I realize it is a new car release, and in particular anyone linked to SUK (or to the reviewer) would like to see only stellar reviews and happy posts praising every VAG made bolt. I tell it like it is for someone who actually paid for the said bolts and is using them at present. Your and Llaningraham sigs say you have good cars with good engines, not everyone was that lucky recently. I was lucky with my previous 2 Skodas.

Finally, I do like the new Octavia Mk3 and cannot wait to test drive it. Thanks to photos from another user I now know full size spare is possible, even though SUK denies this, and the only bad design feature of the new car is too small fuel tank, aggravated by the fact that ventectomy on it is likely not possible. This is discussed in technical thread, and highlighted by several other users.

I recommend re-taking primary school, especially reading with comprehension. I did complain to Skoda Auto a month ago or so, as they are the only ones that can do anything about the varying quality of recent offerings. How many complaints did you write to car manufacturers so far?

If someone posts a link to a dishonest review of a washing machine, an honest comment on it from an actual user of the said washing machine is most welcome. By most people except the washing machine salesmen and the people who know best even if facts say otherwise.

OK, as requested am I now in front of a proper PC (well laptop). I'm not interested in a protracted "discussion" but feel free to respond to this as you want.

Sadly I think you misunderstood my previous post. I said my highly unscientific survey of recent threads left me with the impression I gave previously. I didn't say it was a comprehensive review. Also people coming to this website looking for information on the new Octavia are likely to get a rather singular impression of your opinions.

To be honest having read through a number of threads I certainly did not come away with an impression that you liked the new Octavia (or the superb for that matter) and I assume that you have no intention of buying one or anything else from the VAG fold for that matter.

I'm not in the habit of making posts like this, that's not why I use this site. I may make the occasional flippant remark/post but on the whole I try to be helpful, certainly I wouldn't have bought my current car if it wasn't for what I have learnt through this forum.

All I was trying to do was point out that you were being somewhat repetitive and I think that everyone is fully aware of your opinion, I was not trying to insult or upset you.

And with that, good night to you sir.

Sadly, I have to agree about repetitive. The sole reason being that at least several posters trying to deny the facts or denigrade my posts with off-topic remarks. Just because I do not sing from SUK hymn sheet. To which usually I respond with facts and de-construction of their nonsense.

Bottom line is, enjoy your own Octavia as it is one of the best offerings made so far, the new one made several compromises, though still looks to be exciting enough. You just need to be careful picking the right engine/drivetrain and trim.

+1 as tundlenut above, some people know when its time to move on others like yourself can't see it. The same old... same old..., look around you matey, read reflect and learn..if you can't do that then stop posting the same old sh!te, the message has been recieved, we hear what you are saying, now move on and get a life.

What colour would you like your Octavia 3 in? :)
