I found my Superb: She's called Audrey!

Featured Replies

I'd just like to say a big THANKS to Wayne and all the contributers on this thread. I read it avidly both before and after I got my Superb and the information in here has been invaluable.

As it happens, my Superb used to look exactly lke Audrey, but thankfully Wayne has now changed all his badges so we won't get confused if we ever park near each other (well, that and the private plate, winter wheels and the fact that Wayne's is SO CLEAN).

Might wait for the Spring and perhaps see if Chris Rs can make mine nearly as nice as Wayne's.

Keep up the great work.

  • It's taken me a week to read this thread after my own Superb purchase! I can only say how gutted I am you sold Audrey! It was like a soap opera I didn't want to end. What am I going to do tomorrow?!

  • That's one hell of an aerial on the back there!...

  • It's not an aerial; it's the pole that makes contact with the ceiling grid.

Though looking back a whole year to Wayne trying to work out how Audrey s carpet fixing studs work ....I am STILL scratching my head!

I have 2 under-carpet studs in the driver and front passenger foot well.

One still has an above-carpet stud which original Skoda mats just pop onto.

The other three seem to have the above-carpet studs missing ...

I have bought a set of these above-carpet studs.

Thy just wouldn't snap-pop onto those under-carpet studs! :-(

Will give them another try this weekend - else Audrey is going into DMKeith on Monday anyway (cambelt / MOT / major service),

will enquire there then (again)...

Looking at removing rear door sills to access rear passenger carpets to install these under+above fixing studs if can too ....

TBH Wayne the rear studs are not needed as due to their shape the rear mats have nowhere to move, ~ I assume this is why car that had mats fitted from the factory do not have the locating studs for the rear?

Front carpet: one with above carpet stud, one without (broken?):

Logically, it looks like they snap on - but neigh impossible!

So either i am a whimp!

Or that under carpet stud is broken...

I have asked at Skoda , and they said the same.

I ll get Skoda to have a proper look on Mon.
