I hope you can find the correct house next time Wayne!! :giggle:  :giggle:

Well

In my defence, m'lord ...

1. I set the postcode wrong in Audrey s satnav

- so took me on the other side of town

2. I saw Alan s car, so parked behind it

3. Approached the semi-detached as described by Alan

- but there was no house number

4. Proceed to ring bell - no answer

- knocked on inner door - no answe

5. Rang Alan - and he appear in the distance!

Long time coming to find out why Audrey stalled then failed to start a couple of weeks ago.

Booked in for next Wed 26th at DMKeith.

Thy are VERY busy plus limited resources for a free drop off / pick up.

Will get them to sort:

1. Why it stalled (but as most of u said, the fault code might be over-written now)

2. Wipers move a few mm at times during ignition off / on

3. Missing boot covers for screws in boot (near rear lights)

They are designed to do that so they do not sit in the same position all the time and form a 'memory' which reduced the blades life.

2 is normal behaviour I believe, my Octavia does it too.  Can't quite remember the explanation (perhaps to avoid marking the screen by sitting in the same position all the time, or damaging the blades).

Edit: beaten to it!

Wot?!!!

Its one thing i dislike.

Coz when i searched for my Audrey - i had to have the heaten windscreen.

This means i dont have to de-ice in winter or damage my wipers if stuck to screen.

If i left my Audrey outside in winter.

And wipers stuck to screen.

In order to use heated windscreen, i need to switch ignition to posn 2.

Now if that MOVES the stucked wiper by even a mm .....arrrrrgggggghhhhhh!

I think they do it at ignition off only, and every 3rd or 4th time. Quite clever really. Rear does the same.

Yep, and its not just the Superb MK2, the MK2 and 3 Octavia and my A8 also do the same.

Had similar go on a previous car.  Two black rubber grommets the correct diameter and a bit of silicon sealant to hold in place. Can be pulled out no problem if needing access and restuck over and over.

Cost a couple of quid for four :) similar to these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/220898836339?hlpht=true&ops=true&viphx=1&lpid=95&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=95

I am just tempted to just wander into a dealership and scour the grounds for any of these disc covers lying around the car park - lol

That's taking the p**s.

I'd be firing off a snotty email to Skoda UK, it's them that set the list prices.

I bought a full set of wheel nut covers, 20 silver painted caps, for £8 inc. VAT from DM Keith in Leeds. They even dropped them through my letterbox for free - in York!

Yet they want the best part of a tenner for 2x 10p sized clips. Grrr.

If they designed them properly in the first place then they wouldn't ever need replacing. The plastic lugs snap off the first time they are removed.

Now breath...
