Speaker Adaptors (autoleads SAK 3108)

Featured Replies

After sealing the leaky doors a few weeks ago I decided that the speakers needed replacing since one of the woofers was torn. I started to fit the new JBL component 6.5" speakers today in the Mrs' Fabia 1.2 htp. I had previously ordered some SAK 3108 adaptors off ebay.

As you can see the difference in size is huge and they just don't fit on the door without fouling the door winder. Am I doing something wrong? have I bought the wrong adaptor or is there some info that I am missing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

id be a bit wary firstly as the fabia was not made in 1999, the earliest was on W which is 2000. I know this as my Grandad bought one when they first came out.

tbh the best way is to make your own from mdf or birch ply. Much stronger than plastic and if you get some off cuts from the cutting machine at b&q much cheaper too

That is a funny mistake. However I heard people on here using MK4 Golf adaptors and presumed stupidly that something made specifically for the car would work.

I used mk4 golf adapters and they fit well. though i will be making some MDF ones when i can get my wood lathe up and running :)

Do they look similar to what I have? The ones I have just don't fit in the recess in the door panel. I shall take picture later to show you the trouble I am encountering.
