Interesting list. I guess fairly inevitable the Furby is near the bottom, it is almost the cheapest car to buy! Just one thing though...quite surpised it was beaten by Sport Ka :o

Oh well, on the bright side it was only 3 seconds slower than a Monaro V8, which makes me laugh

ford sport ka :(

Mesa gettin' dat ol' deja vu feeling ...... :insane:

Sorry, is this a re post then? :o

Well I can't find it, but I'm sure the same thing was posted recently - even down to the comment about the Sport Ka, I even reposted the list with the lap times in ascending order (or so I thought). Now it's gone. Maybe I was dreaming!

Oh well, at least my list has a few extra cars on it, so well worth re-posting ;)

The facelifted CTR was faster than a boxster  Bargain.

I think the handling lets the Fabia down lots. I have however been tweaking my tyres with different pressure configurations to see what difference it makes. This seems to be helping slightly - but as an ex saxo driver it is frustrated not having that nimbleness.

Well done Mr. Ka i say !!

Yup, and less than 5secs faster than a Ford Transit.:rofl::rofl:

But to look at it like that - the transit is a mere 8 seconds away from a Merc 55 AMG ;)

Whats the number for ford commercials again ?

Shame the red baron never got an official time...mind you a video showed a time circa 55secs IIRC :D

So what pressures do you recommend then?

The handling of the Furby is its weakest point imo. Eibachs all the way!

I am working on 1 psi over stock at the moment. I have to say i did run my tyres low for a while and found they screamed all the time - then i realsied i wasn't checking the pressure when they were cold. This is a must !!!!!

So around 33 all round i think......

EDIT 34psi at the back !!

It does point toward the furby actually being a lot quicker than you'd think on the straights though - we all know the handling's compromised, and a decent set of springs has got to be worth 1.5 - 2 seconds??

I'd love to know what a decent set up does the lap in.

The handling will probably never be that good IMO. The fact its a diesel, with the inherent disadvantages that come with it, will see to that... the first problem is the weight at the front, not much at the back, so it gives it understeering quality, and pitch + dive during braking and acceleration. The second is the fact that you can't really rev it. When I go around corners in a petrol car, if I want to make progress, I select the lowest possible gear, and find the power of the engine pulls me around. You can do this in the Furby, but it simply doesn't have the same effect because the engine cant rev very high. And if you keep it at low revs, the turbo can kick in mid corner, further upsetting the handling.

The fact its one lardy mofo doesn't help either.

However, I am disappointed to see that it couldn't even beat a C2 GT and Street Kak around the track. The Mini is obviously VERY overrated.

Thats all very well, but you can also modify the other cars... its only fair to compare standard with standard.

The badger mobile was getting circa 53s per lap recently HERE

my fast lap was traffic free.. which is rare@ anglesey.... im sure bill can match or better it with a clear track...

+ Bill is a decent driver :haha:

My last car was a C2 GT , still for sale by the way! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18174&item=4552925037&rd=1 and NO reserve!

It wasn't a fast car 0-60 bout 9 seconds, and really struggled above 110mph, unlike the furby, but it's handling and grip are awsome! It has an amazing ability to corner and brake, being so light makes this ability fantastic, puts a smile on your face every time you drive it, you can nail the gas or brakie mid corner (all of which you shouldn't really!) and it doesn't upset it, very controllable. All that time must have been made up in the corners....

mini IS overrated....... they break easy too......

Suzuki Ignis is more my style than the Citroen C2 GT I'm afraid - very much an old school hot hatch :D

Skoda rapide with a fiat twincam engine? :rubchin:

OCTAVIA VRS (Red Baron) 50.5 secs:D

 Tease or true?

True :D It's on video :D

Just to add, my Octy SDI will whoop a Furbie round there as well. Must be the magic powers of the "map of the Isle of Wight" on the boot wot does it ;)
