Can abs sensitivity be changed through VAG-COM?

Featured Replies

hi, have a fabia vrs 2004.

problem is...

the abs systems is rather too keen to kick in at the slight bumps and hard braking. its just too sensitive and the braking is poor when it kicks in. i rather have no abs and control it myself. thats how it seems.

question. can it be altered through a vag-com or similar type obd???

a bit like how people have altered the power steering stiffness

many thanks

doubt it....(95% certain).........................either drive better....................or fit better tyres for the time of year...................or fit better brakes..

Have you scanned it for fault codes?

Are you sure that it's not cutting in too soon because of a faulty sensor etc?

Mine kicks in at some real odd moments. I have good tyres and bigger brakes. Vag Com doesn't report any abs issues. Is this a common Fabia issue?

Think the fabia brake a little non linear for the first 2-4cms. Driven other cars hard and found it to be easier to get the best out of the brakes, whereas the fabia seems little harder to achieve limit of braking without inducing abs.

Try an initial light tap first then you'll find 2nd stab more linear. You'll soon get used to single tap again once you found limit of braking in the 2 tap method.

Else as others say up the brakes, tyres and skill of braking is going to help :p

Only ever had abs kick in when on muddy/sandy or uneven surfaces.
