could anyone tell me how to blank/delete the egr valve on the superb? im happy to buy the blanking plate(s) needed from ebay but wouldnt know how to remove the egr valve or how to fit the blanking plates. Any help appreciated.

Why do you want to do this?

my egr valve was replaced once before and it has failed yet again so rather than replacing it a second time i wish to blank it off to see if this will improve the mpg issues i've been experiencing seeing as its a cheap option im willing to give it a go.

You can never 100% "delete" the EGR, but you can greatly decrease the use of it. I'm pretty sure Shark Performance can "disable" the EGR via an OBD chip. If you choose to blank the EGR after that the engine will show an error on the dashboard. I got mine chipped and EGR "removed" via a danish company.

I can do a map mod to remove egr for you, if you ever happen to be near j16 M1 wont take long at all. Then if you insert a blank it will be guaranteed not to get any egr through and error codes will never be flagged either. Send me a pm if interested.
