Big question is, does it go faster now?  Or does it use more fuel as induction noise is addictive!

Nowhere near as addictive or as awesome as the vr6 dude :(

Waiting on a dv coming from Clive so can't really give it to much.

Picks up a lot quicker and there's a bit more turbo/dv noise.

Still comparing to the vr6 and until I've done what I want to do it doesn't come close yet.

As nice as the TFSI engine is its one ugly looking engine!  a nice looking engine cover is a must!

TTS one is on the cards ;)

Looks good mate! Quick one; where can you get the TTS cover from?

Not a clue pal, that's my next mission lol :)

TTS one is by far the best option IMO.

Neuspeed?

No, Audi.

No, Audi.

I mean, why TTS is the best option? The only downside of the Neuspeed CF cover is the price.

I'd have to agree with john, doesn't look at all worth it's price tag. I prefer the tts tbh.

They will at some stage get a re-furb, polished lips and rallye green centres.

Should be a nice snug fit once some Coilovers are sourced and the desired look can be achieved :)

Going for the 18s then?

You're braver than me with that offset but I guess you know what you're doing.

The 19's were dearer to buy and needed tyres so would have put me over budget and got me in trouble with swmbo :)

Although the 18's need a little tlc there not desperate and I've had quotes for polishing the rims and painting the centres at a decent price.

The offset will either work or it won't but I'll give it a go ;)

Hopefully they'll be here by the weekend so we shall see, also ordered a 42draft design catch can pcv revamp

Got to love being a truck driver :)

Is that going to be sat in front of your a/c rad and will it replace the stock intercooler?

  • Author

Yep and yep ;)

Found some pipe work in the us just working out shipping cost. Either that or I've a mate who does alloy fab so I'll get him to knock something up

Why is it called a Welly Cooler?

  • Author

Something to do with the guy that first tried one I think, was his name iirc.

They flow a lot better than most of the big names but are a fraction of the cost. Good gains have been had from the few that have tried them on the tfsi.

Slightly stretched 215/35/18 tyres.

Not as dished as originally thought but once the lips are polished and the centres painted they should be ok.

Blimey. Are they 5x112? Guess they were originally an Audi or Merc offset?

Test fit tomorrow?

  • Author

Yeah 5x112, merc fit originally I think.

They'll be on tomorrow after work ;)

Had a measure up and they'll be a flush fit which is what I'm after when I can afford Coilovers :)
