Off to collect Yeti #2

Featured Replies

This time in green outside & black inside, and with a heated windscreen and electric seat. Still a CR170 4x4.

Been so impressed with Sinclair, Swansea where I bought my SM in January that I've taken the plunge and my wife will be taking delivery of a Fabia SE 105bhp diesel on Thursday. If it is half as good as my Yeti I'm sure she will be well pleased. A special vote of thanks to Brian Thomas who is a saleman 'exceptionelle'.

My wife recently bought a 60ps Citigo Elegance from MSB Darlington on the basis of both my very positive experience with the Yeti and the quality of customer service from the dealership.

Love the Citigo as a small second car, by the way.

And I have a replecement Yeti on order from them, too, by the way.

Green outside, electric seat and heated windscreen, what an excellent choice!

Snap!

Congrats, take some pics when you get chance.

Just collected my yeti 1.2 se from Preston motors. Very pleased with the car although only driven a few miles. 9 weeks from order to taking delivery. Big thanks to Lee at Preston motors and as soon as can figure out how to upload photos will do so.

I have the heated seats in my new Yeti, I love them especially noting the time it takes for the diesel to get warm;-)

The windscreen I didn't want because it effects GPS and I use combinations of internal and Satmap devices when I'm walking/cycling....

It's very nice. As you might imagine, not enormously different from Yeti #1 (now at the dealer) but there are a few changes I noticed already.

1) It's a bit quieter road-noise-wise (the engine has a bit more growl to it but it's not run in)

2) The black seats look a bit classier to me than the Gobi - but the Gobis have 56,000 miles on them.

3) I think I liked the Gobi doors more.

4) The passenger seat now has lumbar support. The fold-flat function is marvellous.

5) The new gear lever is nice. I think it's a touch shorter; the knob is smaller and less shiny.

That's mostly it I think. It wasn't as painful leaving #1 behind as I thought it'd be.

Absolutely no effect on either of my two Garmin GPS' BTW, with Skoda heated screen - urban myth IME, confusion with I think, Renault heated screens?

'affects', BTW!

....a bit quieter road-noise-wise ....

Some of that might be the tyres. What's the comparison, new/old?

An excellent question - I'll nip out for a check.

Also for some reason I had it in my head that Skoda didn't supply a set of boot nets any more, but they're there in a little plastic bag. Nice.

Now if only they'd put the S3 or RS3 engine in I'd know what I was getting in 4 years as well. ;)

It's started hailing so I just looked through the windows - #1 and #2 both on Dunlop Sport SP 01.

Absolutely no problems with sat nav reception in the car with my old iPhone or my new one or even the iPad. (Or the Columbus!)

I have the heated windscreen.

I've never heard of any Skoda owner complaining about gps reception with a heated windscreen.

My heated screen doesn't affect GPS or the electronic pass for French motorways. I wonder why yours is a problem?

What a wonderful thread - So very positive about the vehicles, sales people and general service.

Sorry in the fords I drove in Germany in the past, it did! Hence I didn't bother on the Yeti. It acted like a faraday cage for GPS signals. I know now they have an area for this on the screen, Ford used to have in on vehicles on the bottom corner of the screen. I also to be honest didn't feel the need for one. Yes they may be great, but for me I didn't need one.

Heated seats on the other had oh yes we love!!! ;-)

I had a heated screen on my old 2002 Ford Mondeo, absolutely no issues with GPS reception with my last two Garmin receivers (or phones) at all regardless of placement. I guess this may be more model specific, A tad expensive though if you pay for the heated screen and your GPS goes blind. Oh and Jana does not have the heated screen so this is probably a rubbish post as I can't confirm or deny if it would work.

I'll get my coat

Due to pick up green outer black inner ... heated Seats... Heated windscreen end of this month too. :)

I should particularly say that Nick at Garland Skoda has always been fantastic to deal with, and yesterday was no exception. Also the fold-flat passenger seat really is awfully nifty.

Yeah I confirm Nick is a very nice guy to deal with!!! He even did some checking on the free servicing deal and found that the 4x4 is now covered.

ditto or is it 'snap'

anyway the folding seat is rather smart, (oh and useful!)

sporky we have so much in common, do you look like your avatar as well?

I do, though my nose flashes blue every so often and bubbles come out of my pipe.

I'd love to know why the folding pax seat is so "nifty & useful"?

Do you carry around lots of 10 foot lengths of 4x2 ?

I'll probably try to spec it on my next Yeti (seriously.)

Well I carry sails for my boat which need to be kept reasonably flat and the drop down front seat makes a pretty level (but not perfect) run from front to back.

Also occasional long stepladders so no need to put the roof rack on!
