  • 22.5K is too much for what looks like a Proton Surely something like a Lexus IS200D would be a better choice? Heated and Cooled seats win it for me straight away and the 2K saving! http://www.autotr

  • Fecking HOW much!???

  • A full £10,000 more than I paid for my nearly new mk2 Elegance in 2006, when the economy appeared to be in much better shape than it is now. Ludicrous. I think they've pushed the mk3 pricing too far,

That's Meadens of Sway. Bit too soon for a demo to go on flea bay I would have thought?

Demos are cars for sale at the end of the day, even if they don't want to sell it just yet if someone walked through the door with the cash, they may accept it...?

Fecking HOW much!???

My thoughts exactly

Be worth watching it only to see if anyone's mad enough to pay the asking price....

List price including the extras, at a guess?

I'm sure some muppet will.

22,495 is seriously money for a skoda.... Could buy a cracking example of an Audi RS4 for that

But the RS4 would not be new or based on a new platform, I would take the Skoda over the Audi any day. The price should be compared to the equivalent more expensive Golf, Seat Leon etc. and not a used car with a totally different market audience.

Yes its expensive, but Skoda are no longer the budget brand they once were and are now aiming at a different target market.

I would take the audi ;-)

like the RS4 idea problem being is it would cost you neally that much to run it for 3 yrs lol

I would take the Skoda but only if it was about £19K for that spec and allowing for the fact that it has been a demo. My factory order is significantly below what they are asking for a standard elegance!

Totally appreciate what your saying, however we all have our own preferences & mines wouldn't be spending that amount on a " basic " Octavia.

L&K, VRS or a Scout then yeh ok, but for an elegance Spec'd one nah no thanks.

It's one thing Skoda moving the spec and therefore the price upmarket. It's another to expect someone to pay full list price for a used demonstrator.

£23,400 buys you a spanking new A6 SE 2.0 TDI 177hp, which comes with more kit, more power and a far higher residual value...

I think I'd rather have a GT86 for £25K now... But then I have the luxury of being able to have a silly not so practical car on the drive as the Wife has a Focus,

Where from?

Testing the market out there methinks!

Keeping an eye on it and see what brings.

The A6 is from drivethedeal.com

Similarly good deals on A4 Avant, eg A4 TDI SE (177bhp) for £22928 Only thing with Audi, I find the options list bewildering! But putting that aside, is the Audi 4 SE a match for the latest generation Octavia in Elegance trim for instance? I'm very tempted.

I suspect you'd be needing to add quite a few options to match an Elegance for spec (on paper at least).

That's more like it - 18" alloys, Canton stereo and cheaper.

And a 55 litre tank

Aaaaargh!
