Good morning, I own a 56 plated Octavia 1.6 Ambiente. There is a clicking inside its engine compartment. Its location looking from grille is offside and appears to be from under the metal moulding from windscreen to edge before bonnet. The click is continuous and I judge the gap between clicks is just under one second.

I would be grateful for any advice as to what is causing this clicking.

Not sure if the 1.6 has one but if you said it was the 1.8t I would say it was the charcoal canister bolted to the drivers side inner wing, a box with a couple of pipes going to it and a wiring plug on top. Completely normal for it to click away

please check the engine belt tensioner and check the 7 engine bolts may loosen
