Hello and help

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Joined the forum a while ago but this could well be my first post. Not a Fabia 'Fan' exactly but that's because I'm not really into cars. My partner bought her skoda fabia classic 1.2 htp 54 new and it has done us proud, no major issues so I'm a fan from that point of view.

I need help but not sure where to post my question so I'm going to post it here and hope a Mod can tell me where I should be posting it.

She drives the car from Glasgow to Kilmarnock and back Mon - Fri. That's a 40 mile round trip for past 7 years. The car is regularly serviced. would have to check for details of last oil change. Yesterday, while overtaking, the oil light came on and beeped once and went off. This is the first instance of this. She says she crunched the gears a bit while performing this maneuver. I have searched google and the only info I can find is on this forum. I mentioned the oil change earlier because I have read that some oil can gunge up fairly quickly (six months) which, if left untreated, can cause trouble with the turbo. I know it's not a lot to go on but I would be grateful for any advice. Is this something I should merely keep an eye on or is this a common issue and should I take action.

Please tell me the correct part of the forum to post this question and give advice on info required that I have not provided.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Go onto the Fabia section as someone there will help you.
