n/s rear door migraine

Featured Replies

hi all iv been having a problem with my 2001 octavia 1.6 ambiente rear n/s door, on my way to work months ago i went to open drivers window when the n/s rear window just dropped, and after taking door card off and seeing the clamps that grip the window and to the regulator had snapped off i got a replacement from my local scrappy, anyway after fitting new regulator the window would operate from the door controls but not from the drivers' door controls, i thought ahh *******s it works enough(man hands n fiddily tight spaces dont mix lol)!!!!

couple months past and my problem has escalated, now the window doesnt operate from either door or drivers' controls, also the central locking doesnt work, either by keyfob or key in the door!! it just stays in the open position, it has also affected all the other doors as when you unlock it using the key, only drivers door opens and o/s rear door then u have to press the button on the driver controls to open front n/s door!!

iv taken door cards off drivers and problem door to check for rust or dirt or moisture but theres nothing!!! iv checked the fuses but they all seem fine and remote locking is a no go, iv changed the battery and nothing happens!!

iv seen other topics for windows and bein the motor as the problem, but how does that affect the central locking are they all running off same motor are the wiring connected is the whole system interlayed so if one motor goes down the whole lot fails???

any help would be great as my m.o.t is due and worried it be a failure

thanks in advance

How is the loom between the drivers door and the A pillar? I wonder if you have a few broken wires in there.
