Rear Anti Roll Bar - RARB Advice please...

Featured Replies

Present motor a Octavia VRS CR Estate (MY2012)has the Eibach factory lowering kit and have been impressed at the difference over the previous VRS it replaced. Most of my travelling is motorway miles so I dont think entire suspension replacement is necessary. What I would like is for the car to feel a little flatter when cornering etc. This Im lead to believe is where a RARB comes in?

1) Anyone had one fitted to an estate and pleased with the result?

2) What specific model would you recommend?

3) Is it necessary to replace the bushes or (do they come with a new set?)

4)Would anything esle have to be checked/altered ie suspension geometry/tracking?

Thanks in advance :)

Whiteline seems to be a popular choice (I've just fitted it to my hatchback) and it came with uprated bushes.

As long as the weight of the car is on the wheels while you replace the RARB, you don't require any tracking or geometry checks.(as far as I'm aware)

I have an autotech rarb on my estate, very pleased with the result. Can't compare it with anything else I'm afraid -this is the only one i have experience of. It came with bushes but they weren't great (noisy) so i replaced them with superpro bushes which are much better.

I run a whiteline one on my VRS estate. It comes with bushes and clamps as the bar is thicker than standard.

It's just a case of swapping it over.

Great upgrade :)

Thanks for the information folks!

Going to have a chat with suppliers of both products. :)

I can supply you both :)

I have the Whiteline on mine too, can recommend it as it does work very well, like many RARB you do need to relube the bushes now and again though.

Yup, another satisfied Whiteline customer. Very easy to do, and on middle settings just right for me.

On mine, the improvement was on a par with getting a full geo done properly.

PS the new ones also fit better than the one in that guide, the new one fitted just like OEM

Having one fitted to mine on Friday, I could have fitted it myself - but JKM in Portsmouth are only charging £30 to fit it whilst I wait - so it isn't worth the agro.
