Hi, I would like to have my Roomster as my Profile-image. But this seems to be a struggle.  Normally we can upload from disk, but here we have to import form URL.  I have tried several web-sites as TinyPic.com, Bildr.no and ImageShack.com, but in vain.  I have uploaded a jpg (800x600) size 306 kB in their program, and tried (copy/paste) every sort of links the web-sides offer for the purpose.  I gets different negative answers from the upload-windows in Briskoda.net; “The server could not be contacted.” “The file selected is too large. Max 0 kB.”"Could not save the URL image specified".

These are the links I’ve tried, and none is working in Briskoda.net.:

 The link e- and  h-  , works here, but not in the upload box...? (I'v put some marks in //  to prevent the image to load here.....)

I'll guess the URL-links should work, but is it something in the links Briskoda.net don't accept?

Just need to make a couple more posts and the upload features will 'unlock'.

 

I know it's not clean and great as a new user. It will be easier with a new incarnation of the site, but till then, one more post, and you should be able to upload ok then. although the size needs to be a bit smaller.

I strongly advice you to sum up all information in this topic and create a read-only PINNED topic in every section and sub-section of the forum. Inserting images and videos in posts is the biggest unknown for both new and old members. I suggest the following table of contents:

1. How to take good photos and record videos (camera, lighting, framing, zoom, focus, resolution, file formats)
2. Annotating photos (software, arrows, lines, text, rectangles, circles)
3. Attaching photos to a post (how to keep image file size low - maximum total quota)
4. Attaching photos and videos using external links
5. How to choose a reliable, easy to upload and manage images hosting server

For sure consolidating the posts would be a good step, although it's only one page thus far.

 

Item no1&2. that's a whole website on it's own, but I guess there are some specific tricks for under bonnet photos.

3,4,5 are all liable to change. Indeed the new site software for here in test, is all change.

 

I'm looking into a 'neat' image hosting solution that is as easy as photobucket and others... but all is a distraction; you could say vital stepping stones, from my biggest challenge, getting of this software stack.

 

At the moment, I'll look into it, my priority is in the migration of the software and the challenges that is throwing up at  the moment.

When I write a post there is no symbol of the image in the line above the available space for the text. What happens ?

Yes there are, at least if you're posting from a computer, the "link" (chain) and GIF icons.
