Audi S3 brakes

Will the above 312mm set up fit the fabia? I'm thinking it will but I'd just like to confirm before I buy some

Thanks

Mike

Yup, same as Octaiva vRS, TT etc.

They fit fine, also get some fast road pads, they were too strong with a standard damper, eibach spring combination but should be ok if you have a full upgrade. Don't know about standard set up thou

cheers guys!!

I seem to remember some time ago that you said any VAG brake calipers would fit the Fabia vRS as long as they were for 312mm discs. Is this still the case?

Yes thats right.

The calipers for the 288mm brakes on the Octavia are the same as the 312mm ones, its the carriers you need to space the caplier out to clear the larger disc.

Lots of calipers about, its the carriers that are worth the money.

You need to transfer the complete 312mm brake set up as the calipers are different on the Fabia vRS.

Are the carriers aftermarket or as fitted to Octy VRS etc?

That is also correct :)

How much would say a set of decent 2nd hand carriers are worth??

As fitted to the Octavia vRS (and any other 312mm brakes)

If it fits an Octaiva, it fits a Fabia.

I know TT ones will fit. ;) S3 is essentially the same so  as already said. :o

I just looked at calipers, they don't seem too expensive new, as you quite rightly said the carriers will have yer eye out though!!

Just the carriers are

What sort of disks seem to be the prefered option?? Something special and grooved or standard Octy VRS?

Do the larger discs still fit under standard VRS wheels?

Yes the 312mm setup fits under the standard alloys and if it were me I would try the OEM discs before upgrading, however I believe Walkie uses EBC turbo cross drilled discs & pads and he says the stopping distance is phenominal, wonder how long they take to warm up?

If your not planning to do track work the oem discs and pads will be fine..

DS2500 on oem discs is even better, but the Ds's can destroy the discs on track (ive just ruined my 2nd pair of discs) im goin for black diamonds next time :D

Another set to fit then...tut.

;)

The Fabia doesnt have wear sensors but you can just cut the wire off the pad and jobs a good 'un.

Thanks for clearing that up
