Skoda Citigo maximum size of winter tyres?

Featured Replies

Hi! I just ordered citigo elegance 60hp 5doors and I have almost brand new continental ice contact 185/65 winter tyres in my warehouse. Do they fit properly to citigo or do I have to buy brand new ones? Thanks in advance...

If they are 14" tyres they will throw your speedo out by about 1.56%. If you are having the 5J wheels as standard putting 185/65 on them is possible but most tyre dealers will probably tell you you should have 6J wheels.

If you have ordered the 15" wheels you are looking at over 6% error on the speedo.

Yes they are 185/65/r14 and I get only summer tyres so I have to buy wheels no matter what. What about fuel economy? Shall it sacrifice a lot or?

Looking at where you live I wouldn't be worrying about fuel economy in the winter only the grip. Presumably you will only have the winter tyres on in the winter as they don't perform as well in the summer.

Yes I got summer tyres when I bought the car and I have to buy winter tyres for winter season. That 1.56% difference in speedo doesn't matter much if I can use those almost brand new winter tyres. Thanks for your answers...

When you buy your wheels for the winters be careful unless you are buying actual citigo wheels as the brake calipers on the front tend to stick out a bit more than some.
