312mm Brake Setup Question

Featured Replies

Assuming I had just got hold of a set of big brakes for the front would I need to have the larger 'Octy' splash shields for them?

I'm assuming that other than those they just bolt on, I should have -

  • 2 x OEM Brake disks D=312mm
  • 2 x OEM Brake Calipers
  • 2 x OEM Brake Caliper Carriers
  • 2 x Pair OEM Brake Pads
  • 2 x OEM Brake Hoses

Just have to get myself some of that green paint that Jason raves on about :P

**Edit** Just read the excellent how to by a man in the know. It would appear that the standard ones are fine but would it benefit me to have the larger ones?

L ;) ;) Ks like someone got a bargin on ebay?

Do you think :D .

It's a little more than I would have liked to pay but I feel it was worth a little bit extra in view of the fact that they are barnd new and include disks and pads.

Nice :)

Was keeping my eye on them too, the seller seems to put a set up sale quite regular. Now where did i see the lacquer kit for

Try here not sure if its the right green?

No splash shield or brake lines needed. Everything else is fine :)

As John says the std brake lines are fine. Hammerite smooth green paint is allmost perfect for the job.

Also should add further to my last, the guy has been very reasonable and I hope to recieve them Wednesday or Thursday next week.

Turns out these come from Germany where cars are taken off a transporter and Brembo's fitted for customers before the car is delivered - nice work if you can get it.

He does have more and they are slightly cheaper if bought off ebay.

Im not offering to 'go' and fit his. Im saying if he wants them fitted he knows where he can find 'me'.

I would want to draw you away from your little project mate. :P When are we going to start seeing some pictures?

Soon enough ;)

Here's one posted up elsewhere..

But this is a brake thread not a 'Fun' thread (not implying brakes cant be fun).

Are you intending on fitting the very comfy looking rear bench? Might need a little modding to get it in!!!!!

Now theres an idea..he he he.

Might need black cushions though to keep it inline with the fronts.....well back to brakes....

I do indeed thank you matey

I've had a few bits from them :smile-l: .

Pretty good service.

I proabably could have got them from a scrappy but the attraction of the ones I bought was the newness as I'll be puuting them on an 05 car it's ideal.

Must admit, breakers yards like that tend to be a little better quality :)
