Elegance TDI DSG GFV

Featured Replies

This might be a bit of a long shot, but does anyone have a Guaranteed Future Value figure for the Octavia Elegance 2.0TDI DSG Hatch? This is on the 0% PCP deal.

Ideally, I'd like the value for 36 months at 12k miles per year, but if I can get a few different figures with the number of monthly payments and annual mileage, I might be able to work something out.

Basically, I've ordered an Elegance 1.4TSI DSG Hatch, but it doesn't look as if I can get the Winter Pack for it and it's close to being a deal breaker for me. I'm just trying to work out how much of a difference it would make to the monthly payments if I switched to a TDI instead. If the GFV is high enough, I may be able to work with it.

The GFV on a diesel is generally higher than a petrol, so the higher GFV and the higher purchase price will make the diesel a similar monthly payment, or possibly slightly less, I changed from a petrol vRS to a diesel vRS within 12 months of purchasing the petrol on a PCP, the car was slightly more expensive, but the GFV was higher, so it counter balanced each other, so I got a brand new car for similar money, so in your case I am guessing your payments would do something similar.  Hope that helps.  But as a 'rough' guide, go to Drive The Deal spec your car and click 'finance' car sometimes they come up with a PCP calculator, it gives a GFV on that, admittedly that wont be a correct amount but it will give you a rough idea to work things out at home before getting final figures at the dealer.

I dropped into my dealer yesterday and got an answer to this. It surprised me!

The 1.4TSI DSG Elegance Hatch has a GFV of £8325 after 36 months at 12k per year. The 2.0TDI is £10,575. So even though there is only £1,750 between the on the road costs when they are new, there is £2,250 between them at 3 years old. On the PCP contract, if you're not planning to buy the car at the end of the term, the TDI is always going to work out cheaper.

Whilst I expected a difference, I didn't expect it to be so much!

Really?

When we take out a lease we get a GFV which we have the option of purchasing the car after 3 years based on this value.

The GFV for my £26K new Octy III is just shy of £8K.

Methinks I may take them up on it if it's actually worth over £2.5K more than that!

I did throw quite a few options at the cars. The petrol came out around £26K and the diesel around £28K, both with the same set of options. I don't know what impact the options have on the GFV, but I wouldn't expect to have the same percentage on the options as you get on the car itself.
