I have lived in my street for over 40 years

This morning I awoke to find my Fabia 07 SE VRS covered on every panel, with some sort of liquid that has removed the paint down to the metal

including the tyres and alloy's

 

I do not know where I stand with insurance for vandalism, the last time over six years ago was a hit and run, but cost me dear insurance wise as a no fault but unable to claim as no witnesses, Same today

 

I have honestly never crossed anyone, but it was definitely targeted as only car in the street and on my drive

 

I thought I had no enemies, I have worked in the roughest pubs in Scotland, and even murderers were kind to me

 

All I have is SPECULATION, one of the guys in the street was raided by the Police for a cannabis farm, he left the street last night, He reckons I am a bit posh compared to the rest, with the newest car, I helped him many times with his Alfa Romeo's but even with the help just grunted thanks or do not bother mate

 

I feel so sick, my pride and joy is ruined, can not afford a non insurance claim ,My last was a hit and run on my VRS six years ago,  I could not even eat tonight, I feel so sick

I am 66 and this was my retirement present to myself :-(

Not sure how you stand on insurance but you might want to consider a wrap instead of a re spray as it could be cheaper? The wrap might stand up to future attacks by retards better than paint?

Look at a defence system for to prevent this happening again ( hopefully it won't).

I have a security camera that records all movement by my car which lights up in the dark and has a loud human voice warning you that you are being filmed! It works as after a couple of thefts from my garden (bikes) I've had no further trouble. It records movement onto to a SD card which can be viewed on a lap top. It can make for great evidence when you catch a Neanderthal retard in an act of naughtiness !

Have a quick look round for any containers that may have had the fluid in....collect them carefully...(with a stick in the open top maybe...I'm thinking finger prints here).....I assume the police are involved..

 

If the police are happy for you to do so give the car a good wash off to stop it going any further....but to be honest if it's a whole respray and wheels need doing....it will probably be a write off..

That's terrible man.  I know how you feel.  Remember when England lost to Brazil in the quarters of the world cup? .  Brazil played in blue.  I woke up to find my car's roof had been stamped in so badly my head touched the roof when i got in the car.  It was blue.  That was the only reason i could think of.  I had spent thousands on it it.  Full Irmscher body kit alloys twin exhaust ect, I was jutted.  Got it repaired but it was never the same, crinkle cut roof anyone?.  Don't let them write of a SE for paint damage, less than 1000 of them around.  Gutted for you but at least it was not dented.  In my opinion our government is partly to blame as they have created a big divide and fulled jealously and anger.  So don't go too hard on yourself, blame Camoron instead.

What is the world coming to these days, sounds like paint stripper or brake fluid.

 

The problem is going to be getting this sorted of course, and usually in events such as this it costs more to sort than the car is worth. Sadly I expect your vRS will be written off by the insurance company as a result of this vandalism, its what usually happens. The cost of stripping and neutralising the acid in the affected area, combined with a full respray is just to expensive.

As said likely to be written off however you can still buy back the car and sort it out later.

Is it not more likely to be paint stripper? That gel type stuff. This happened to a mate I used to work with and without a doubt your car will be written off.

It will probably be Nitromors easily obtainable but why anyone would do this I don't know, You have my sympathy just remember Karma does exist and the individual who did this will get his payback. You might not get the satisfaction of seeing it happen but it will happen.

Really sorry for you. I can understand how you feek. As previous it may well be a write off so assuming you've already reported it to the ploice I'd get a few quotes from local repair shops in case the insurance comany write it off so you can see if its worth buying it off them and getting it done yourself. You might want to think about getting cctv installed just in case, assuming you don't have a garage. Maybe getting some gates fitted might be worth considering too? Good luck.

Everyone should make a small donation to this man so he can get a full respray.

If you are fully comp your Insurance should pay out. The SE fabias still go for over 5k and rmthe respray at most should only cos t 2k

Taking into account a full respray from a reputable garage will cost in the region of £2500-3000, also taking into account the wheels need doing you're looking at another £500+, so I hope you're going to be one of the biggest donators:) As a gesture it would be really nice, I cant see everyone coughing up when someones car gets vandalised.

Why not turn a negative into a positive? Get the insurance too right it off. then buy it back off the insurance cheap (ive done this with several motors) and then get it vinyl wrapped with the money they pay out get the wheels refurbed and have a unique motor.

So so sorry to read this I really am, can't imagine how peeved you are right now. I hope the police and insurance can help you. It's unfortunately a sign of the scumbags that are around today a sign of the times, probaly a jealous little pikey.

Personally I wouldnt get it wrapped(only last 5 years) at end of the day realistically it still needs respraying . However depending how bad we are talking I reckon you could get a respray in the same colour for around 1000-1500 max.

Bare in mind it's just the outer body which needs spraying and not door sills engine bay exc, ect. You may even get it cheaper than above

Something similar happened to my father in laws 13 plate white polo last night.

Loads of paint coming off so I assumed brake fluid. Also had been spray painted with rattle cans. Not wording just random mess.

As for finding finger prints, that's pretty much out the window as its hard to get prints off anything that has been left outside to the elements, at least that is what an officer told me when my shed was broken into.
