Picked up new Yeti yesterday ,,,, brilliant car !! Surpassed all my expectations. 170 engine is a peach and all of my worries about the shade of brown for the l&k were for nothing, its a cracking colour and the matching brown leather is really nice. I'm a real fan of the facelift as well , albeit in a minority !

Been chucking it down here for last couple of days, will get some pics up when it clears up.

Brilliant service from Newmarket skoda in stirling , ordered car at end of October , about 8 weeks from order to delivery.

  • At the risk of being labelled a troll, I would hazard a guess that there are very few Yeti owners who are changing to a FL purely on the grounds that they have to have 'the latest'. There are a huge n

  • Well it's still an impressive car and it still is clearly a Yeti.  Just that the tiny bit they moved it on, does not warrant the cost-to-change numbers for me.  It has not remotely moved on enough fro

Wait - what? 8 weeks? Good grief that's good.

Goes to show that its all about allocations , mine was the first order the dealer submitted.

So if it takes 26 weeks from order to delivery, does that mean the dealer has many or few allocations? Don't understand how this works.

Too few. Or looked at another way, too many orders for their given allocation.

Thanks - never realised this sort of thing influenced delivery times.

Thirty two pages? That's healthy discussion that is guys :-)

Welcome to the party - better late than never though.

A 'fun' video of the FL! http://youtu.be/aDVNvCjsT8I

Now says "This video has been removed by the user"!

Was it rude? :whew:

Fred

Was it rude?

No - mildly humorous - but not rude!

It's funny that reading a lot of the comments on this thread there is quite a lot of negativity, but the results of the poll at the top show the majority like the FL Yeti. Silent majority?

I dropped into Progress Skoda's Northampton dealership late this afternoon and found a Metallic Black 1.2 TSI DSG Elegance Urban in the showroom, looking resplendent under the lights

I was intrigued by the subtlety of the eyebrows over the fog / drl lights

The exhaust tailpipe suggests a much larger capacity engine

and the Gobi Sand (?) interior looked really smart

The City front end is a better looking attempt than that of the FLego outdoor, shame there's no 4x4 option :S

Just need to graft the rear bumper of the classic and the nose of the FL city onto an outdoor and you might have the makings a a reasonable facelift :giggle:

TP

Is that a (painted) side protector strip on the side or are my eyes playing up?

Agree that the the interior looks very upmarket and Audi-ish. Even the (fake) wood looks OK with that interior colour option, even though I hate 70's wooden dash inserts.

The exhaust trim is an option (which I specced).

Mmmmm....maybe was a bit hasty cancelling my Fl Elegance (Outdoor).

No your eyes are working fine, there is a side strip running down the side.So why is there one on this model and not on the red Yeti that is on the other thread? both are the city Yeti.

Tony

Assume it comes as standard on the Elegance and not the basic S.

Shame that the Annapurna wheels don't have the black inserts that ALL the press cars with this style of wheel had!

A question for the owners of the new FL Yeti, without sunroof: has Skoda added ambient leds on interior dome? I would like to retrofit ambient leds in my, I know Tiguan has this feature

Correct based on the configurator pictures - not on S or SE

Apparently no rear mud flaps, just been to see mine and it is supposed to be having mud flaps all round but due to the new rear bumper they  have not produced the mud flap to fit it yet,  no part number on the system, that fits in with the front mud flaps only on the build your yeti web site.

So have people now been able to get mud flaps?  From this UK press shot there are clearly mud flaps on the back of this Yeti:

I understand rear mudflaps are now available.

I've specced our L&K with those rear mudflaps from the factory.

( I thought for £20 why not.)

I'll let you know in about 8 weeks time on collection...

Caffyns 01892 507820 seem to have them on that auction site for just under £50 delivered which seems reasonable so I have ordered a set
