More to speculate about!  Although Annie will be with us for at least another year, probably longer, the time will come when heavy towing is no longer part of our own brief.  Pre-FL, an easy down-size to the 1.2 DSG would be probable (if I could bear to part with the 140bhp!).  Will there be an alternative in the FL, I wonder, or would it mean a hunt through low-mileage pre-loved pre-FLs?!

I agree, so much of what makes a Yeti a Yeti is still there. There is nothing directly comparable to in on the market and I think the facelift has brought it tastefully up to date (unlike some facelifts). I still think that one of the most successful facelifts ever was for the Nissan Qashqai. Turned a frumpy looking thing into a sharp suited set of wheels. The Yeti didn't need such radical surgery but what they have done looks good to me.

Would be interesting to start a poll amongst prospective, current and previous Yeti owners as to whether the facelift has made them more or less inclined to buy a new Yeti, or whether it hasn't affected their opinion. I suppose it is a little pointless until we know the specs/prices though.

Yup agree on the QQ facelift being one of the best ever.  And also just mainly a front tweak and nothing as big as the current E-class facelift for example where EVERY SINGLE body panel was changed.  And yet you can't even really see it apart from the nose and the horrid Ponton fenders being gone over the rear doors.

so what about the rear spare wheel ? :wonder:

That was just a silly gimmick to make it look like a decade old Vitara as part of the camouflage.  It was NEVER going to go into production with the Yeti having a top hinged rear hatch.

I'll be amazed if Skoda UK allow me to choose the body style and engine/transmission(DSG) I would wish for. Hope it is not a deal breaker.

Priced look set to rise with such things as LED lights an option. Surely should come as part of the upgrade.

Are they going the VW route where you have to add £4k to the standard spec

to get a half decent set of goodies. (Climate Control.....etc.).

Since it was mentioned in this post by Shrub, I thought why not do a poll re the FL Yeti.

Compare the Yeti L&K brown above to these:

And I think we can safely say the Yeti's brown is very, VERY understated.

By my leaves, it is Shrub, not Scrub!

I have answered positively because I believe that the facelift keeps the car usefully fresh at a time when more competition is abound. I would add that it is the Rufty Tufty version that particularly appeals to me and Skoda UK could yet ruin things by messing up the prices/specs.

No L&K initially.

Limited engine choice ,as per the run out Yeti for a while.

Indoor (City.) 2WD only.

No 1.8 TSI/DSG until New 2016 Yeti.

Brown trim with Austin Allegro style square steering Wheel. :giggle:

How will Skoda UK price the City/Outdoor?

The same or Blinged up City more?

Fixed.  Oops.

And agreed 100% with what you said.  I want an OUTDOOR L&K and SUK might just ruin that still.

There is not much in terms of cost difference between them so I would hope it will be a cost neutral choice based on what you like.  As I said a tick in the options box with £0 cost.

The one has all silver roof rails, the other has silver mirrors and silver trim above the door rubbing strips.  The cost of the bumpers are the same for either.  The CITY might have standard LED rear lights, the OUTDOOR not.  So cost neutral in my book and if they charge more for the one than the other I'd not be happy.  UNLESS they add kit to this look for exmaple as I said if the CITY comes with standard LED rear lights and front and rear parking sensors and the OUTDOOR comes standard with the Rough Road Pack or such like.

Furthermore I don't think the CITY will be 2WD only...  That will mean you cannot have a 140DSG or up in the CITY look...  And the CITY is really like the Tiguan R-line which comes in 2 and 4wd.  So no.  The CITY will be 2 and 4wd as you can only get the bigger engines with 4wd.

What's wrong with boring Black. Don't say its take it or leave it 90% cocoa

Brown

I wish there was a 'No deal-breaker' option in Q1, Q3.  Are we too late?

I'm working on the theory SUK will only provide the City version to UK customers, as I’m sure they don't actually think anyone lives in the countryside.

They have a notorious track record for not offering RRP packages, raised suspension; full winter packs etc. on models that have these options available in Europe. Country roads here are just as bad if not worse than in Europe and rural drivers really need access to these options and the benefits marketing over rival brands, that don’t offer such equipment.

Erm in the current L&K you could ONLY have black with no choice for mushroom...  So what is the difference if they give you only the one L&K colour in future?  Though in saying that on the L&K Superb you can choose Ivory or Brown.

Can the Skoda Configurator cope with £0 cost options ....I doubt it.

I think I'm wrong there.  It won't be a £0 option.  The CITY will have certain standard bits that the OUTDOOR won't have standard and vice versa.  And so their prices WILL be different and the model range will be listed with all the different models and looks.

I think Undecided caters for that - and it might be too late to add that now.  Let's keep it as is.

I think spare wheel is not the part of camouflage but a option for Yeti, mybe only for AWD models.

the car has a different rear bumper module with  a special rotatable triangles bearing for spare wheel, keeping the top hinged rear hatch unchanged.

I wouldn't ever buy one with that abortion stuck on the back! ;-)

If I was SUK I would take advantage of the FL to do some range rationalisation... event though Skoda has potentially doubled their problems with a choice of plastic front and rear...

- why bother with 2.0 110 Tdi 2WD when there is the 1.6 104 Tdi 2WD? Maybe even replace the 110 4WD with a 1.6 TDi 4WD?

- E trim is probably too basic for 2013 so drop it entirely

- if dropping the 1.8 4WD due to fuel economy figures, consider adding the 1.4 DSG 2WD instead (and make the 1.4 the 140bhp version); maybe add a 2.0 TSi VRS 4WD later...

- maybe merge SEPlus into Elegance spec (lose the leather and bixenons, add picnic tables and satnav)

;)

I like Yeti FL , If they make the lower grille like a smile mouth, mybe it looks  more lovely and more kindly .

Your poll, of course.  But e.g. '...I can't decide which' isn't quite the same as '...but it doesn't matter which'.  Damned pedants!! :hi:

No Petrol DSG with Outdoor body then. Makes sense until you negotiate Sainsbury's car park!

I agree that the E model will probably be dropped altogether. In a way I hope that it won't because it may be the difference between me getting a new one or not. I also agree that there is room for the 1.6tdi beyond dedicated Greenline models, as with other VAG cars.

Interested to read that they are offering up to nine airbags! Is that the case now? I am assuming that this includes optional rear side seat airbags, as with other VAG cars.
