Getting the best deal...is now the time?

Featured Replies

Congratulations. Excellent deal.

And see the recent post from the guy in France, who also appears to have struck a very favourable "like-for-like" replacment deal.

Perhaps better chop the Octavia in for a Yeti.

hmmm

Her be coming 3 at the end of the month.

Hmmm?

Your Octavia is very nice.  I wouldn't be tempted out of it just yet.

It's a bit scary spending that much money on a car but I'm happy that it's a quality product and there shouldn't be any reason why I should be changing it for the next 100,000 miles at least.  Good economy for the changing fuelling prices, practical and scalable for any future family plans.

A nice new Rapid or even a Fabia would have done me easily for space etc with the seats down but was just thinking about the long term.  Saying that, is there a post anywhere on long term mileage?  When I used to own a Discovery 3 there was a thread about mileage and reliability, servicing etc...  One guy got to 210,000 pretty much incident free with good servicing!  And as a green oval fan myself I can admit openly they're not always the most reliable vehicles. Even if the engines are currently a strong lineup.  Usually electrics and sensors etc.

31 years old and my first brand new car. Feel like I'm 18 again    You only live once ey?

Erm,

You see our Tavi?

50,000 and never been washed or valeted.

But religiously checked and serviced.

In and out a farm lane with grass hanging off the grille and towbar.

2 holes in the carpet from my boot heels.

Big hairy (Lab Rotty cross) dog lives in it working hours.(The back seats semi-permently folded down)

Got her to the point where I now feel comfortable driving her, since no longer worried about an odd wee scrape or dent.

Which is why the YETI would have fitted in SO much better.

PS

Not that I ever seen a dirty Yeti yet :giggle:

Bloody poseurs.

PPS

At 54 only our 2nd new car, last one lasted 13 years.

At that rate after this one.

One more new car should do us :wonder:

Hhhh!

You ain't be looking then, sunnyshine!! :giggle:

Mine is normally filthy, and even won me a Skoda Rally Jacket when Skoda ran a competition on their FB page for the dirtiest Skoda in the UK.

Stuck at work so can't repost the photo!!

You could also try looking at some of the "Adventure" threads from the past, where we went greenlaning.

I did think that shops offering different deals depending on 0% or not, was illegal.

Or maybe I had a weird dream of seeing Watchdog or some such consumer advice programme... Basically if you negotiate a deal then say you want to take their 0% option and they want to renegotiate the terms it isn't a 0% deal. It's a deal where the fee for paying on a perceived 0% deal is baked in elsewhere.

I think you are right: it could well be in breach of The Consumer Credit Act

UPDATE

Due to running out of time and slots allocated for the Pre facelift Yeti, I've been informed my Yeti will be the facelift model!  I do like the previous looks however it makes monetary sense to be pleased at getting the new FL version.

Build date 25th November and should arrive min December    Happy days!

One of the first in the country - lucky you.

Really?!  Awesome.    :-)

I've got a good deal on the vehicle but the vehicle colour options were narrowed and probably not needed...

i.e. £1,000 of extras that come as standard now.  Ordered the SE however bluetooth comes on the S, multifunction steering wheel etc...

Also, the options of Urban or Outdoor that are out of my hands.

Can't grumble at all though.    I think it was the optional extras I added which has resulted in the build date being so late as it wasn't exactly, 'bog standard'

Cant edit the text. Windows i.e. error..

I meant the colour options when placing the order were narrowed greatly and most of the optional extras added were probably unnecessary.

Are you getting an Outdoor or Urban, as don't think you will like the look of an Urban?

Build date so late? I ordered a pre F/L on 5th September and won't be built until 2014. Looks like you will have one of the 1st Yetis that was moved over to F/L.   Grrrr.  ;)

I've dropped on haven't I... I think it's been a cumulation of ordering through Carfile > Carfile liaising with Rainworth Skoda > myself adding a grand of extras hence causing a bespoke build at the factory (hence a delay possibly?)

I'll have to ask tomorrow over the phone however I'm sure it will be the urban.  I don't think the greenline will lend itself to the outdoor.  Lowered ride height with the combination of small tyres.  Probably look a bit daft tbh.  Have been meaning to ask ever since I received the courtesy call from the Skoda dealership.

I could probably draw both the urban and outdoor with my eyes closed I've spent that much time researching them.  I don't mind the Outdoor..bit rugged, I drive a Defender as a daily drive so don't mind the visuals however I think only the true 4x4 command that particular look.   Greenline = streamlined/simplistic to me...
