Worth combining a short break if you can

I'm in Hampshire and will be making a trip to Seat Surgeons very soon. Can't beat positive feedback from the Briskodians and as you say their work looks top quality.

Plus 1 for seat surgeons. I'm in lydd so a bit further away than you :p not a problem travelling to them.

There is also a place in Essex that does retrims called trim stars. Bossfox had his yeti done there

Their work looks great. Roughly how much is it for front and back seats to be re-covered?

Ring them, they'll often do a deal

Thanks for all your help guys! I'll keep you posted

York is pretty lush, how much would you expect to pay for a full retrim? Love the shape of the seats just hate the super light grey

You got in there quick with the beer shout, lol!! When you thinking of getting yours done? Because if that's the case I might get in touch with seat surgeons and see if they'll do a discount for 2?? Worth a try

I have just enquired for a full re trim 850 +Vat for any pattern any colour

And worth every penny IMO. I had mine done nearly 3 years ago and they are still perfect.

Not sure whether to get them done towards the end of next month or wait until after winter, they'll be freezing in the winter though are they?

And Trim Stars look to have done an excellent job. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/226003-the-twins/page-3#entry3200992

I have wondered about getting mine done, but SWMBO wasn't impressed with the likely cost! Fortunately for me Seat Surgeons are local, if I ever get the go ahead :)

That's my issue, so a full re-trim it'll be over £1000 + the fuel I'll use getting up there and back!! Starting to get pricey!

Although that job on the yeti looks amazing!

Do they do steering wheels and gear stick sleeves in that cost?

In and around a grand, if you type in fabia vrs seat surgeons in YouTube there's a video with some examples they are all embossed with the vrs logo look well like, have you got pictures of yours joe?

That's well worth a try completely agree. I'm open to whenever they can fit me to be fair! I've only got a quote and started looking at times I can do it.

Yeah a good £1,000 but it's worth it. Oh and don't forget to add in the beer money! :p

I asked about doing my gear stick, but didn't get a reply to that email.

Seat surgeon is good for the price but to me I've seen a few now at vw shows and spotted a few about on the roads. I personally think that they all look the same, spot them a mile off. Compared to a real leather retrim that actually smells of leather when you open the door. That's what I paid for in my car. But each to there own.

What do you mean by 'compared to a real leather retrim', Ant-vrs? A Seat Surgeons retrim IS a real leather retrim as I said in my previous reply below to similar comments you made recently.

Having had two cars retrimmed by Seat Surgeons in York I can confirm that it is real leather and it smells like real leather too. The owner of that company owns the factory in China which produces the custom made kits for retrimming. The standard leather is sourced in China but if you opt for Nappa leather then that comes from the same source in Scotland that Aston Martin use.

If you want to smell real leather then come to my car and open the door....

Personally I've can never smell leather when it is a seat surgeon retrim. I like I said before each to there own on this, if you wanna buy a seat surgeon retrim go a head. I do have my own opinion on what I think about a company and there work. Plus when I am at shows I always get ask who did my retrim... I tell them he retrims helicopters and aeroplanes for a living by hand and does not buy them in from a company from china or where ever they get them from!

As a comparison though how much did your retrim cost ant?

I got lots of comments about how mine had that new leather smell, even 2 years later.

Snap mines getting on for well over three years old I still get the lovely leather smell, ok it's masked a bit by my cherry California scents but it is still their.
