Found this before I bought the car, well infact my mum told me about it. I was split between the seat and the skoda, in the end after trying seat dealers and cars I kept coming back to the furby, so I bought one and been here ever since. Have to say the guys n gals on here have made me feel very welcome and been a great help on so many subject!

I say thank you to the Mod's for doing such good work and keeping the site going regardless of the time and effort on their behalf! Cheers guys!!

Bought Octy vRS Feb 04 and Fabia vRS in Sept 04.

Found Briskoda in Nov 04 and now can't find how to get off it

Had my car for some 14 months before finding this site, but then it was another 6 months before I registered. Like many, went looking for modifiers and came across Briskoda from Google.

Car first...then site after a brief time on vortex.

Factoid: The first place where briskoda was formed and demo'd on my laptop was a pub, it's now a curry house. It was born in a pub over a pint and chips, after a few weeks of evenings where high speed fool hardyness in Lancashire with some friends and friends of friends driving evo's, scoobies and Octavia's was pursued.

Another Vortex original here.

I was looking for fellow sufferers from some of the teething problems with my Vrs.

It all seems so long ago.............

Phil

I was on my second Skoda and found a link while looking for the Skoda owners club.

Not really bothered with them.

Found Briskoda whilst looking for a vRS or Skoda owners club. Car found on Saturday, registered with site yesterday, collect car on Friday.

Job done!

Found this site when I first had my Furby VRS and was searching for something to do with Skoda. Then forgot about it. Remembered it when I was thinking about changing my Furby for something bigger (necessity - Furby most enjoyable car I have ever driven, very sorry to see it go but couldn't afford both- however am really enjoying convenience of more space, and spec of my elegance estate, as I'm getting older and larger will probably suit better). Wanted info about Octy 2 estate. Am enjoying reading postings on here on a regular basis now. Think its a great website, partly because the cars themselves have turned me from a VW fan to a Skoda fan.

Was pointed here from uk.rec.audio.car when I was looking for info on replacing the stereo in a furby.

Posted on here for a bit and then ended up buying an octavia instead of a furby

Another Vortexer, then the car, then Colin, then Brisky "happened"....

had Furby Mk1, unmodded, for a good 2 years, found Briskoda when finding places to show off my first mod, a set of tasty VW 17s. Within 10 months I was Jabba'd, lowered, and crashed it... But it was so much fun, and has been so much fun since I joined. The car's become more and more a lesser part of the forum for me, with the social fun side taking priority.

But it was the car, then Briskoda for me.

I was interested in an Octy Vrs and knew that Ffoc Winx had one so asked him for tips (on ffoc) and he pointed me in the direction of Briskoda.

With the advice I got off guys on here I didnt buy the first one i looked at and cannot thank them enough. I kept looking and stumbled upon the car i have now.

Ian

The car came first 52 plate octy vRS, Briskoda came about looking into options for mods etc.

Bought the car first, saw a Briskoda sticker on a car on e-bay and went looking on google. Now I spent far to much time (so says SWMBO) on this site, and have regular fights with my kids over whose turn it is for the computer. Ain't life fun?!

Bought the car first. Car broke down and had a search on google to see if any others had similar problems.

Now have to check every day for new posts to see what is going on with other people and their cars

Another ex VWVortex-er here , I remember the day when Briskoda went 'live'!! It seems ages ago now , 5 years was it?? Have you seen the Vortex now , theres no skoda chat in there at all hardly...in fact I had to re register over there just to post some pics , just for the sake of seeing a new post! ... wont be long before they drop the skoda section on there I reckon!

I spent hours reviewing different cars and came across Briskoda after becoming convinced that Skodas were the best choice on the market and joined just before I picked the car up.

There are so many threads to read I have no time for driving it

Great site and great information!

Jon :D

I started looking on the 'net for any reviews on the Octy Estate, and came across Briskoda.

Didn't take long to get the car to go with it though:)

I'd recommend the car (and the site) to anyone. I'd also suggest becoming a Freedom member - the amount of information I've had since finding the site is worth many times over the cost, and helps make sure it can continue to be such a useful resource.

An excellent resource for any would-be, or current Skoda owner.

Cheers

Ben

Picked my car early last year and think i was a member of Briskoda before i collected it but the car still came first for me.

found the site via google when looking for a specialist Skoda site.

found the site by a link from one of the SEAT sites, have just put a deposit on an 04 fabia vRS picking it up in next week or so. Have sold my MK3 Ibiza Cupra to go over to the diesel side of the force. Hope I've done the right thing !!

Stumbled across the site whilst looking for info on an Octy vRS. Got some good replies etc. Bought the car about a week later.

I found the site after doing a search on the fabia vrs. I wanted to find out a bit more about it before committing to buy one. The strange thing is I can't actually remember what steered me towards wanting one. I must've read a review somewhere in a car magazine as I was originally going for a new Golf

If only I hadn't have picked up that magazine

:bump:

Just thought it would be interesting to bump this thread and get some updated votes from more recent members prior to possible discussions between Briskoda and Skoda UK

First joined VW Vortex back in the day....old skool:cool:

Then some madman / genius came up with "Home Of Our Own". I blame Colin and Ian frankly ;) Seriously though, the best fun you can have with your clothes on.

If we are going back to basics, I think Freakcrab had the very original VRS which was featured in the Autocar review that everyone will have seen who bought a MK1 VRS.

I personally have made some great friends.
