Superb is overheating when idle

Featured Replies

Dear all,

Any one can explain for me why my car temp going more than 90 C when the car is idle for example when I am waiting on traffic light and a/c is on.

But when I am driving the temp goes back to normal position which is 90.

All fans are working. Coolant is full.

Any suggestion?

By the way when I check the gas of the a/c the maintenance man he told me the a/c has high pressure. Is that related to the car overhearing or it does not affect this heating?

Thanks

Dunno where you live but personally i wouldn't worry unless it shows a warning?

I guess it is very hot in the Emirates and the slight raise in temperature is ok as the fans are on and drawing air, when you are driving along, the water pump spins faster and the air rushes through the radiator quicker making cooling more efficient.

As long as your coolant isn't boiling and blowing out the pressure release cap I would just monitor it for now, might even be worth looking for a Thermostat with a lower temperature opening.

Yes there is no (warning) flashes on the dashboard.

Yeah I think it is a matter of thermostat

It's normal for the temperature to rise when idle in warm areas. Just like the temperature will fall when idle in cold climates.

Given where you live, I'd say it's normal enough as long as the fans eventually cut in.

I've had the same thing happen with other makes even here in the UK.
